If the title of Mazar is earned, these women will be the eligible ones for him to consider when he picks a bride. Typically he is in his thirties, and the women are in their teens. His price he can't pay for a lifetime--many goats and cattle--the dowry is high but he keeps paying as he goes.
If he falls, he must wait until next year to try.
Oddly enough, this tribe also practices infanticide. If a child gets the first tooth on the top jaw instead of the bottom jaw, it is called Mingi, and thought to bring famine, drought, and diseases.

Is the practice of a rite of passage a good thing--as in, something practiced in Heaven?--or is it an Earth thing to limit who is permitted to reproduce and be a part of society?

The challenge is when we start to question the values and the norms we absorbed as children growing up.
Especially when people have believed in it so much they have died for it.

You Love everything, and you trust that something good is going to come out of it.
You know Fear is their favorite tool to manipulate others, and you don't buy into it.
