Impermanence

I'd like to share with you a story about this dragonfly. I almost didn't see it. I was at the seashore looking at rocks, and the sparkling of the wings caught my eye.

It had drowned. If you look closely, the head isn't quite attached normally.

For me it was a sign. In Native American totem Animal Medicine, --at least my working knowledge of it without looking things up--Dragonfly says about things that are Illusory or Impermanent. 'Hold on to these special things and times and people because they won't last forever' is how I interpret it.

A dead dragonfly is sort of like a card that is reversed. Be on the lookout for things, and know it's not forever.

It wasn't easy for me to fish this out, as the waves were moving it quickly through the rocks in little eddies. I had to work for it to get it for this photo for you here.

My boy had a sadness when we arrived at our vacation spot. He likes a room, we've had the same one for the past four years. This year, due to a computer error, it was taken.

He was heartbroken.

I had to work hard to console him.

In the end, things worked out, and we were able after one night,  to get into 'our room' again.

It took a lot out of me though, the emotional outburst. He's not one to cry easily, even after the wisdom teeth there were no tears...

The wisdom teeth too were a lot of work on my part, come to think of it. Lots of being Nurse Mom. <3

One of my favorite poems, one of the two I've memorized in fact, goes like this:

Hold fast to dreams
for if dreams go
Life is a barren field covered with snow

Hold fast to dreams
for if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
who cannot fly.

What are your dreams?

How do you respond when they are Illusory, Impermanent, and Thwarted?

Do you dream again?

Or do you close up and refuse to dream in order to 'protect yourself'?

Hmmmm?

How are you when you are around someone close to you, who is having THEIR dream die?

Do you know what to do?

How are you at the emotional support?

Does it drain you?  It did me.

How do you 'fill yourself up' after such a situation?

These are good questions.

It's good to think about them, given the situation of so many things going on around us at this time.

For those who have dreams to control and have power, they might face some challenges in the current energies.

For those who have dreams to 'live their life' with blinders on, and basically ignore anything that isn't work, entertainment, news, weather, or sports...that's dream might face some challenges too.

Everyone on Earth at this time has the potential, the infinite, limitless potential--to dream dreams which are harmonious and in alignment with the original blueprint of Planet Earth, the dream Gaia Sophia had long ago, when everything was Divinely Created. There is a LOT of 'wiggle room' to create wonderful, exciting, and peaceful experiences for us all.

I ask you to focus on the possibilities, and to apply them to yourselves, as well as to help refocus others who are struggling.

I will share with you one last example. A classmate of Anthony has to repeat the same level of math as last year. According to my son, this classmate had been promoted without really mastering the courses for a few years now. So in a way, this is a good thing, even though it's sad.

Anthony told his friend, 'if you were at a different school (not academic), you wouldn't take this course until the next grade! So even though you are taking it again, you are still ahead.'

This is the kind of attitude which is going to be useful for everyone in the days ahead:  look for the good.

Don't 'candy coat it'--but find the silver lining for the clouds, look for the rainbow after the rain, and trust that everything is going at the perfect place and time, otherwise it wouldn't be here.
