Honor Your Yin

We know this title isn't very clear, especially to the men who are reading it. However, for our current day of Boot Camp, we invite you to drop any and all preconceptions about 'yin', and hear us out.

Honor your needs for rest and relaxation.

Rest is one of the most important concepts for the budding Spiritual warrior to encounter. In a third-dimensional realm where the energy of yang is overemphasized, it can be simply maddening for a spiritual warrior to be told -- in addition to unplugging for one hour from the screens and meditating daily-- to rest, to nap, to let go, and to wait.

All of these things harness the power of yin.

And deep within the energy of yin--which is immensely restorative--gestates that which is new, and perfect, beautiful and whole.

Remember the hands we had told you were not designed to hold the clicker/remote/smart phone?

Hands were designed ultimately for THIS to be the summary of the incarnate on Earth experience:

To embrace as a joyful child of the Universe, absolutely everything the earth-plane has to offer!  The sights! the smells! the sensations! the sounds! the incredible sense of well-being which comes up when we are in complete and total harmony with What Is, and we experience the boundless ocean of love from Divine Creator which surrounds us, twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, and three hundred sixty-five days a year, for eternity!

So how do we get to this state of eternal happiness and contentment?

Through honoring our requirements in body and soul for yin, and working in alignment with them.

This woman is waking up after the sun has risen!

How rare this time of year is that?

We are made to follow the sunlight.

Any time you can give yourself a full night of rest, and awakening with the actual morning, and not the pre-dawn like Carla usually does, you are working with the yin energy. Yin isn't finished until yang (sunshine) gently awakens her.

Make sure you get your necessary time to luxuriate in the depths of the yin energy.

Working with yin also means honoring your need for mental, physical, and emotional (as well as Spiritual) rest.  It helps to surround yourself with calm in a place of beauty.

Carla would like to add that honoring yin means letting some things wait. For example, 'things that need to be done' actually can be strategically revisited. When overwhelmed with housework, Carla used to 'Push Through' to get things done. This 'pushing through' is a learned part of 3D which comes from the training with the homework early as a child, to delay gratification for a better reward (a good grade perhaps).

Pushing through first and foremost doesn't acknowledge What Is. What Is is that Carla may be tired, she may have already put in enough work for the day, and truly, the dishes in the sink can wait. It won't be the end of the world if the sink is piled up with dishes, for example.

This is a very subtle concept and Carla and I want to both be sure we thoroughly express it.

Any time your energy is low, and you feel stress and a need to produce/push yourself, that is a red flag to you that your energy is not in balance! Listen to it! Heed the call of your Higher Self and await the time when the energies are in alignment for you to accomplish the thing, a day or two later.

It can wait.

Even a very wise mother or father understands there are times when the children must be taught to wait, and the child will know and understand in return that the need will be filled, at the right time, and everything is normal and natural and okay in their world.

You have the right to control your world with the little adjustments that tell the world, 'life can wait, I need to shore up my yin energy, I am feeling a little depleted at the moment'...then a cup of tea, a five minute break for fresh air, a ten minute break for a little sunshine...will help your energy system realign for its highest performance.

We have a word of gentle caution for the couch potatoes who like to binge watch their time away in the name of 'relaxation'--what is there relaxing about being electronically entertained that is in alignment with Nature? Perhaps once in a while, with the family and the fireplace as a social gathering it is okay in the name of relaxation and bonding together with friends and family. But otherwise, on one's own, when one is transfixed to the screen, one is highly vulnerable to 'undue influence' by the creators of the entertainment who know vast amounts of psychology to influence without the viewer even being aware (such as subliminal messages Ross adds).  So exercise caution in the realm of electronic means of 'R and R'...

If you need a vacation, why not plan for it? Save. Save towards a goal and in a reasonable amount of time take yourself to the most beautiful area you can afford to travel. For someone on an extremely limited budget here in California, a nice trip might be to the island of Catalina, a short boat ride away, and with the ocean it feels like Europe--worlds away! -- for perhaps a long weekend.  A trip to the mountains, or the desert would also be options. Sometimes even just an overnight stay in a local hotel will get you into that feeling of being away and taking good care of yourself. Make use of the spa and the amenities. Allow someone to serve you meals and take the pressure of cooking off for a little while.

There is a very fine line between relaxation and escape. When relaxation is in the healthy zone, you will notice a feeling of being restored and refreshed and ready to face the world with a new outlook.  When you feel like you are not ready to face the world again, and it is a habit, perhaps you are beginning to skirt the realm of escape. In this, too, there is nothing wrong, but it raises an incredible red flag for you to closely examine your life, your responsibilities, and why they overwhelm you. Perhaps a change may be in order...and with enough yin perhaps it too will manifest.

Yesterday Carla did something that was the most daring she has done in all of her working with me.  No I am not talking of our intimacy (he's joking and teasing) although for lack of mentioning it earlier intimacy is a way of restoration and relaxation in and of itself (he smiles)--Carla took her first steps on a dream.

She took out all of her seeds from her 'storehouse', surveyed them, and then took pen to paper and drew a map of her ultimate dream garden for this summer. There is a square foot raised garden box for flowers, one for herbs, and one for vegetables. She carefully marked spaces for the outdoor furniture and the pool and the compost. In her minds eye she visualized the beauty and serenity that could be done with artistry in arranging everything just so.

It was the most un-medicine, un-single mother, unexpected thing she could do with her time!  There were dishes in the sink, holiday cards that had never been sent but Anthony's school photos needing to go out with the 'change of address' notices I am having her send instead of the holiday cards...but she drew and put her dreams on paper in utter and total delight, blocking out the rest of the world and being lost in the rapture of the energy of creation.

Yin is where the dreams form.

We are the ones who give birth to them, yes, both the males and the females genuinely give birth to their hopes and dreams and visions of a better world in so many, many ways!

Give yourselves the time and energy you need to help be in alignment with this marvelous process!

Honor your need to nurture your soul with the energy and time for yin to 'do its thing' and make you healthy and prosperous!

clap! clap!
