I Want To Know How To Be Vegetarian!

Yesterday was a major victory for the Light in the Doctor's Dining Room.

I didn't want to eat there. I'd had a late breakfast. I usually don't like the company, but Spirit 'nudged' me to go.

About a year and a half ago, I put up a bright white vortex in the middle of the Doctor's Dining Room at my work.

Since then, one surgeon Dr. Joe L has made a book on holistic cancer treatment. Several have shared they are vegetarians. And Chef there is working with me to bring new vegetarian options to the menu for here, the cafeteria, and the patient food...

I sat with my boss, a gastroenterologist, and a nephrologist. Later, a neurologist came and sat with us.

To my left, the gastroenterologist is 'almost vegan'. When asked by the nephrologist, who is 'wants to know more', we learned the GI doc avoids all animal cruelty. Except for pizza--where there is cheese--he skips all animal products. However, he still likes and craves meat. He said, 'I have two stars, for being vegan, while (me) she has one star for being vegetarian.'

My reason is selfish. I eat to have more energy. (The maximum amount of Light energy in food is in organic plant-based RAW food--I try this as much as possible, but my son eats meat and meals are difficult to prepare separately--so I compromise as vegetarian.) I can do a twenty-four hour OB shift and keep my energy up throughout if I eat RAW and have naps. For me, I do not crave meat in any way. It tastes like cardboard if I taste it now, and the vibration is just uncomfortable. I see images of the dead animal, sense the cruelty, and don't enjoy how my body feels when I have it. Because of my extremely low Vitamin D (I didn't supplement when I went RAW), I eat salmon (it's my medicine an d I force myself) and once in a while, eggs.

'Well, what about sushi? That's raw fish?' the nephrologist asked. The Gastroenterologist and I explained all meat is more difficult to digest, and has toxins. While RAW (which is new to the GI doc, who had a 'bad experience' at 119 degrees restaurant) contains enzymes within the food to help with the digestion. Digesting meat takes a lot of work!

My boss countered with his daughter, who is graduating from University and going to France to study abroad--has a daughter who has been vegetarian for five years and is exploring her options to resume eating meat, since in all of Europe, vegetarians are not exactly 'embraced' for their lifestyle, and there is 'so much good things to discover' there. He seemed proud, and he ate his meat and fish at the table in front of us. This is the second time he's been exposed to our non-meat ways, and also at the fund-raiser he learned I am a new vegetarian...when I sat across the table from him and asked for a special plate that did not contain meat.

On a napkin, I wrote for the nephrologist:

  • Avoid Pesticides--no GMO, have Organic only food (look for the 9 on the sticker on your produce to know it is okay. Mother's Market in Southern California is a good place to shop.)
  • Avoid High Fructose Corn Syrup
  • Avoid meat, perhaps one day a week at first
  • Listen to your body
  • Supplement with B12 and Vitamin D
  • Drink fresh, clear, filtered water

Then I asked him about the safety of indocyanine green dye when injected retrograde through a nephrostomy tube for imaging into the kidney during surgery. I wanted to know if it was nephrotoxic or damaging to the collecting system. He said it's in the tubules (I think) and safe, and doesn't have much contact time, so not to worry.

I saw how asking that question helped him to trust, to go to what he understands, and to help maintain the professional relationship with me without feeling like I am trying to 'turn him into something new'.

He said his wife loves tofu, and although she eats meat, they look forward to the Vietnamese Vegan restaurant I recommend...

This is how we achieve gain for The Light--by showing up, and being Present for whoever needs what we are. With open hearts and open minds, together, we will change the world for the better!

Galactic "Anthropology": It Starts With Food!

I made these cupcakes for a potluck yesterday

It all starts with food!

Yesterday a friend who manages an Outback restaurant offered my son a free plate of food at a street carnival. I saw him hand one with ribs and salad and bread to him. I made a mental note--ribs for him, salad for me--and looked forward to sharing it together.

Next I knew, the salad disappeared and only ribs were on the plate!

I asked him what happened? No sooner had the words popped out of my mouth, than our friend saw I was hungry, and offered me a plate for myself to eat, ribs, salad, bun, everything!

It was one of those moments when time stands still.

I looked at the ribs.

I looked at the arm extended with the plate.

I looked at the face of the friend, with a total gesture of love and generosity of spirit and JOY of giving in the smile, the crinkles at the eyes, and deep within to the windows of the soul.

Like lightening, the thought came to me:
what is more important--the meat or the soul of the person who is sharing it with me?

My heart knew what to do. I took the plate. I thanked him profusely. I went right where he could watch us sit down, and I ate it. I enjoyed it! (My son, who is freaking out about 'his new mom' relaxed at seeing me eat ribs.)

I said to him, 'God gave this. I eat ribs once a year. This is it!'.

Here is an example of how I was on the 'giving' end of the same situation reversed with the Galactics:
http://reikidoc.blogspot.com/2012/09/all-aboard.html
I still feel the sting of shame and humiliation, although unintended, by their reaction to my offering of milk and cookies to them.

I took my son out to dinner at a new Italian restaurant near our house. They are famous for a homemade sausage factory. I had my order all set, eggplant parmesan. But my boy wanted to try out their homemade sausage instead of meatballs and asked for a taste.

They made two tastes.

Next thing I knew, one was on the end of a toothpick being handed to me. I looked at the meat, the hand, up the arm, and to the face filled with pride at the family tradition on the end of that toothpick.

I took the meat. It tasted awful because I no longer eat meat. I smiled, and said, ' You know, I don't eat meat, but for you, this time, I make an exception! This is DELICIOUS!' for it was 'good meat', I just 'don't like meat', yes?

You should have seen the total smile, beaming, on the worker's face that I accepted his 'gift' to me, and enjoyed it.

So what does Spirit have to say about food? Well, funny you should ask! Matthew Ward had a message about it just channeled 'fresh' yesterday: http://galacticchannelings.com/english/matthew04-07-13.html
It is very reasonable, and permissive and directing you to find the optimum health for all of you, your body, mind, soul, and Vibration. (Scroll halfway down in the article to find it.)

For two weeks now, a massive 'getting to know one another' has been going on between the Agarthans in Inner Earth and the Galactics, who have established First Contact in that realm. There is a lot of adjustment being navigated between the two 'families' of Light.

Our time is on the horizon. Surface Gaia is next. We don't know when, exactly, or how, but what happened in Egypt on July 3, 2013 is a dress rehearsal for The Event. After that is Disclosure. At a later time, First Contact. When this joyful reunion happens,  I want you to be as beautifully open, at ease, and loving as this little girl is here looking like it is the most natural thing in the world to be 'hanging out' at the Mayan Ruins in Mexico.

Because it is.

We are One Family. No matter what we eat. We eat to stay alive.

And next time, if someone in ceremonial attire in the wilds of Indonesia offers me a crawling bug on a stick, I'll look at the bug, up the arm, and to the smile and eyes and spirit of the one who is offering it to me to eat it.

It is only one bug.

It is worth it, the price of earning their trust and keeping Goodwill between us.

I can always reach for the glass of water and help wash it down. It won't kill me.

Nor will it kill you to reach outside your comfort zone to accept the hand that is extended in Love and wants to welcome you home as Family, and embrace you once again.

It has been a long time waiting.

RAW Opportunity Lifestyle

I don't like labels.

The RAW community unites under the banner 'RAW' label.

I like RAW vegans. They are very nice people, who sincerely believe in a lifestyle that makes them feel healthy. They band together for mutual support.

This is good because it takes a lot of planning and advance preparation to maintain a RAW vegan diet. There is special equipment, such as high-speed blenders like a Blend-Tec or Vitamix, a dehydrator, a quality juicer, a spiral slicer to make noodles out of zucchini...it gets confusing.

The message that I want to get across is: these people are so incredibly kind and loving, that you can be only twenty-percent RAW and they are accepting of you.

Not even half RAW vegan! Trying and wanting to know more about it is OKAY.

I have wrestled with this 'concept' for about four months. Deep in my heart center, I have gone back and forth with my two dilemmas:

  • I want to eat the best diet for me as possible--for my health
  • I work incredibly crazy hours, and as my son made me promise last year--DON'T STARVE. (when it comes right down to it, in the O.R., drink a juice with high-fructose corn syrup if it is between 'something' and 'going hungry')
It has bugged me. I, who do not like a label, don't even fit under an entire category when it comes to what fuel that helps me run. Evita Ochel's seminar on Udemy, The Five Pillars of Optimal Health, resonated very strongly with me. Health is more than what you put into your mouth. (BTW, She has a discount for my readers. Look up her name in the Search box, and scroll to the bottom  of the post Five Pillars to find the code for the discount.)

Last week someone asked, 'Are you Vegan?' on their Facebook page. I read with interest the results. One in particular struck me, 'Yes, at home. But when I eat out I eat Vegetarian because there are not many choices.'

It percolated for three days. When I woke up, I 'heard' the words, 'RAW Opportunist'. I changed it to 'RAW Opportunity Lifestyle', and here it is:
  1. The overlying Principle of this Lifestyle is gentle acceptance of What Is and taking responsibility for your Choices, which are based on the goal of Optimum Health.
  2. When you have opportunity to choose Movement, take it. Make it a priority. Listen to your body when 'it has had enough'. You will feel better and sleep better.  (I have an elliptical downstairs. I hate it. I like taking walks in the neighborhood, taking stairs whenever possible, and yoga with Yogi Bill. If Heaven were On Earth, I would dance two hours a day ballet in class, and then an extra hour on Pointe several times a week. And I would do Variations and Pas de Deux.)
  3. When you have opportunity to enjoy sleep, you take it. Naps when you are sleepy is okay. A soft bed, with clean sheets, fresh air from the window, and an air purifier make it more pleasant. If Heaven were On Earth, I would go to sleep shortly after sunset and wake up at sunrise, like the birds.
  4. When you have opportunity to Socialize, you take it. Keep the 'Golf Balls in your Mayonnaise Jar' relationships healthy. Remember the words of my nana, 'We Do The Best We Can.'.
  5. Take the opportunity to Enjoy Nature whenever possible. Nature is well-established in 5D. Exposure to it will bring Tachyons (a form of Light, like photons) into your energy system. Sunlight is very effective in this. It will make your 'switch' to the Higher Dimensions smoother and more hassle-free.
  6. Whenever possible, seek and destroy all sources of Toxins in your home and daily life. Are you a smoker? You might want to stop it. High Fructose Corn Syrup? Go ahead, read the labels, and throw everything containing it out of your house. I don't eat Relish because of this reason. I miss it, but intuition is telling me HFCS is bad news, and that's my choice. Go over your cleaning products (Did you know Febreze will kill a bird? So will smoking hot Teflon. If it will kill a parakeet, do you still want it in your home?)--that being said, I found the 'organic' versions of dishwasher soap to be horrible. Cut way back on GMO toxins so your liver has an easier day and doesn't have to metabolize them. Eliminate what toxins you can, but it still has to work.
  7. Connect with Source. Every day. From a little 'I wish for this' prayer in your heart, to formal time in meditation. One of the best walking meditations I know is to recite the Karuna Reiki symbols with each step. I go like I am simply walking in the neighborhood, but in my mind I am saying them over and over in sequence, one with each step. Get creative!
  8. The goal in nutrition is to choose the highest possible Vibration that is available to You at a given time.
Let's explore number 8 further:
  • Is there a RAW vegan organic option at home or one the menu? Does it appeal to you? Do you have the time to make it or wait for the restaurant to make it for you? (what works for me is one meal a week of High Vibration Restaurant food, and at least one day totally RAW at home. Then every RAW Opportunity I get in between, I take it.)
  • Next, if there are no organic choices, whenever possible, make it RAW.  Allow yourself to 'slip' a little sometimes. If the overall goal is RAW, it will 'balance out'. It is not worth the stress you give yourself to 'color within the lines' as you are co-creating your nutrition day-to-day. (Here are some examples of 'slip'--a salad at a fish taco stand with grilled shrimp on it, a Pizza Hut personal pizza at Target while shopping with my son, Pepperoni with the pepperoni pulled off, and a small piece of salmon in the Doctor's Lounge with pineapple, the last 'healthy greens' from the salad bar, beets, and carrots. It was that or Pasta Bar--do you know how much GMO-laden oil they put into that pan when they make it??? Ew!
  • Know there is a fine line between 'happy milk' and 'non-organic soy'. I eliminated all soy from my diet at the recommendation by a holistic nutritionist I helped in labor with her epidural. I have kicked this one back and forth for about two years. Yesterday, It came clear--if it is yogurt, goat-milk yogurt or kefir from Redwood Hill Farms (I met the farmers) I will take that first. I buy their products to support their organization. My son tried it, but doesn't like it. For him I buy organic dairy products. If I am at Starbucks and the choice is between 'ordinary milk' and 'soy', I take the soy.
  • Allowing yourself 'access' without guilt to your 'old favorites' might surprise you--after eating RAW I am discovering first hand when I eat these foods, the thrill is GONE! How did I ever used to eat this?! I ask myself, puzzled? With the RAW lifestyle, your tastes change.
  • With the RAW lifestyle, Vegan seems like a banquet and Vegetarian seems very rich. Meat and eggs seem disgusting, too. And you would rather NOT eat than go to fast food. Last night on the way home, after a long day at work, and picking up the car from the service place, I had some free time before my son came back from his weekly visitation with his father. I scanned my mind of where I would like to go, and instead, I went to the local natural food market. I bought ingredients for a salad, and made it for myself. It had orange bell pepper, parsley, tangerine-orange fruit, hemp seed, Hawaiian black salt ( a little more than I usually salt--it was my strong bold flavor), olive oil, and balsamic vinegar. And jicama, just a bit.
Use your heart to find your way in RAW vegan diet. It will 'resonate' with you when you are doing 'something right'.

Leave your ego at the door.

And if you have tried RAW, or vegan, and craved meat, did you remember to do the supplements?

All RAW vegans supplement several important amino acids, and unsaturated fats/essential oils like in flaxseed, every day. I take Dr. Shulze two tablespoons powder green stuff in juice, and one tablespoon RAW meal before breakfast. I take Vitamin B-12 every day.

Chia seeds and I think one other also need to be ground first for the nutrients to be accessible.

Go to the mirror and gently pull down on your lower eyelids to look at the tissue inside that touches the eye. These are called the 'eye grounds'. Are they pink? Are they red? In medical school I learned, if they are red like beef, your iron levels are fine. If they are pink, like pork chop, you are anemic. Try to get some more iron into you--I use a cast-iron pan, eat potatoes, and spinach. There is also the option for meat if you are severely anemic. (It is better than transfusion or iron pills that bind you up.)

RAW vegans are also all about the probiotic. Saurkraut, kim chee, and supplement probiotics are very popular and are eaten daily.

When it comes to RAW, ego must be left at the door. It is not with your head, but with your HEART the RAW lifestyle is able to heal you.

Be open, gentle, accepting of your body, and be smart about it. Ease into it, and listen to what your body is saying to you. Read RAW vegan literature and visit websites. I recommend Brandi Rollins, and Cherie Soria, and Paul Nison. They are the ones that helped the most for me. YouTube has some wonderful resources. And of course, Evita Ochel and all of her work--from vegan to spirituality and everything in between--she is a great resource on all YouTube, Social Networks and web page too.

Be smart.

Be healthy.

And pray.

Reiki and the Zoo

Today we are going to discuss the human-animal caretaker bond.

I'll get the psychic part out of the way first: the only animal communication I had was from a spider and from an elephant. The elephant, quite simply, shared, 'I'm gentle!'. (She had just gotten let out from her waiting area and gone to explore where the zookeeper had hidden the food, and was happy.). The spider was a fire-legged tarantula in the reptile house. That thing would not shut up. He spoke in English, as far as I could tell, although I am fluent in Spanish and might not have noticed. He was not happy, for in fact he was complaining about practically everything--the people, the small cage, and the like--but he was happy he was being fed and didn't have to hunt for things. He was making an adjustment. I never got a word in edgewise, but all in all I was a sympathetic ear.

There also was a very old man, possibly a first developer, who approached me from Spirit Side as I walked up the Tiger Trail. He came from the right, had a grey bushy moustache and a British Accent. I couldn't really understand his words because of it, but his energy had a general sense of 'how is everything with this place going' and 'I did something good, didn't I'. Of course! And I responded something in that vein back to him, and he went away.

The okapis were pregnant. That I knew by sight and by energy.

What struck me the most this time, aside from the animals, was the people. The workers, the tourists, the visitors, and how management approached this whole Spring Break' capacity crowd.

Although most workers were nice, I met one who was just nasty. She rang up our purchases at the store just on the right as you enter the zoo. There is a sandwich shop in the same space, as well as an often uncrowded, clean restroom.  I called her on it--while my son was double-checking the hat he selected--I smiled and asked, 'Do you have kids?'; I knew the answer in advance by her behavior to my boy. I said, 'It is not like anything you would think--you have to adapt and be more flexible than you ever thought possible.'. She didn't get that, but she toned down the attitude. And she had SEEN my card with the 'President's Partner's (read 'Big Donor')' on it and did not 'get' that she was dealing with someone who helps make this zoo run.

The crowds were remarkably calm and happy, queuing up with no irritability at all. But they were very 'into' their own 'thing'. I saw a lot of beer cups in the hands of the men. Funny, alcohol did not used to be served there, I recall, except in Albert's sit-down restaurant... There was not much interaction between any of the crowd in general. There were a lot of parents there, with their children. So for the most part, I would say the energy of the crowd was high 3D/Lower 4D. It was an animal-loving crown having fun with their families.

Here is where I get to say a bit about the management. The bathrooms were shockingly filthy and one family one (very important for a single mother and eight-year old son) was completely out of both rolls of toilet paper throughout the day. This is where the 'mouse amusement park' aces it in crowd satisfaction. There is always someone in there cleaning it up. But not here. Bring tissues with you just in case you get 'stuck'.

The other is with the food. For some reason, all of the food at the zoo is awful. There are different kinds of awful. There is the ten-dollar unlimited free soda refill oversize reusable cup vs. the five dollar and a quarter option to buy a regular cup of soda. That, in my opinion, is a shell game, a ruse, a nasty business trick. Especially when a small bottle of water is three ninety-nine!

I had a veggie burger and the person at the counter asked 'cheese or guacamole on it?' Right on.

The french fries were awful. We ate them, but did not enjoy them at all. There was a strange flavor to them that we didn't like.

Basically, my concern is that for a place that is dedicated to the lives of healthy animals, why is there so much poison in the food they sell for us? Churros? Ice cream on a stick?. Frozen Lemonade? Meat-meat-meat, most of it not the 'good kind'? I think it is because it makes the zoo money because the people want to buy it; they do not understand the kind of poison society has been feeding them. I would be too painful to discover the truth, and so they chomp away and spend their money. There is only one restaurant in the park that has 'local, fresh. organic' suppliers, even from the angus beef and chicken.  It is the Saber Tooth grille by the Elephant Odyssey. I checked it out. The energy there was awful! I could not eat. It was in the category my anesthesia professor who was a vegetarian once said: they ruin perfectly good food there.

What do I recommend? Bring food that won't go bad, bring it in the park, and put it in a locker. Nobody uses the lockers. Then when it is time to eat, have your own food. My organic apple was a welcome change when I had it; my hemp granola bar was really handy when were were at the exhibit and far from any food, too.

I know that all proceeds go to support the animals. But why not take the money you would spend on food purchases, and buy yourself something really nice from the gift shop?

i got mine--a smoothie cup with lots of pandas on it. It's bright red. And has a straw. It kind of looks like a reusable cold drink cup at Starbucks. I always enjoy something to help me start my day.

And about the whole animals and zoos and all that stuff, philosophically? We are their caretakers. Some of our brothers and sisters have turned themselves into poachers and hunters and 'steal your habitat me-or-you-I-win' kind of people. As caretakers, in the wild, we suck at it! In the zoo, there is constant movement to recreate the wild, and also to enhance reproduction and perpetuate the species.

Until there is a time when the wilds are 'safe', I support zoos.

I want them regulated, of course, so the animals are well-cared for.

There was a zoo expedition in 1922 or 1928 to the Galapagos Islands. Eighteen giant tortoises were taken. All eighteen are still alive. They are over one hundred years old. Most are still at the exhibit at the zoo. The others, for genetic reasons and breeding purposes, are living in other zoos.

I used to study at the zoo when I was in medical school. They had a 'student pass' that was under twenty bucks. It was good for both parks. I used to take my books and sit on the bench that faced the waterfalls at the base of the gorilla exhibit. I love waterfalls. The energy there is fantastic! I hope one day you may experience it, too.

If I had my dream come true, I would be an anesthesiologist for the big animals. I already gave anesthesia to the mama panda, Bai Yun once, while I was doing my fellowship. She has the sweetest energy and spirit. While she woke up from anesthesia, and was in her cage (you don't want to piss a panda off!), I held her little paw until she woke up. I whispered a special wish for both of us into her ear. And guess what? It came true for both of us--her more than me--but both of us have our little cubs to hold and to love and to teach and to help grow...
