Gaia News Briefs 1.11.2014

Happy Anniversary!

Yesterday morning, it was Ross who woke ME up with a breakfast tray! The foods were very different, even more so than Japanese is compared to American food. I had to ask what things were? He helped me to eat it. The food is concentrated Light energy. One, a little square that looks like a dice made out of mochi isn't much to chew on, but it tastes wonderful and gives you a 'better than espresso' hit of energy. It would be like the sweet consistency of a turkish delight without the powdered sugar and nuts in it.  I drank some juices I'd never seen, and kind of got bored with the food because the flowers in the little bud vase were so enchanting!  They were living beings, these flowers, and they moved and sang--not like one of those battery-powered flowers that dance to the radio from the eighties. Their voices were like little bells, and they didn't have faces, but they could have a conversation with you that was limited but real. 'Hi, how are you?' 'We are FANTASTIC!!!' is the kind of interaction you would have with them. And the energy coming off of them was really nice and you just wanted to be around it too. There was no salt or pepper, no fork but I think possibly a spoon on my breakfast tray.  (This was all in 5D, that time between awake and asleep is the most likely for newly awakened to 'hit' that state...)

On the way to work, it was a beautiful morning, and at a stoplight I said, out of the blue, to Ross, 'Happy Anniversary!'

He was surprised, because in fact, it was not. He questioned me why I would say it?

I explained how with the amnesia, I have no clue when our anniversary is, and I want us to be able to enjoy one until my memory comes back (of my galactic life in prior incarnations). So why not today? I was in an 'anniversary mood' and felt like sharing it with him.

He thought that was charming, and completely appreciated the thoughtfulness that went behind it, and smiled and said, 'Happy Anniversary' to me. He said, 'I married you before, many times, and I would do it again in a heartbeat!'

So until I go back UP, it's Halloween for us--also our New Year's--and I'm glad I picked it because I always forget anniversaries! Even my own!

Tell Her About Your Blog

There is a surgical technician who has a bird, like me, and wears glasses. Her name is Kelly, and she asked me to do her anesthesia for her surgery once some time back.

She had chronic neck pain, and when it was at its worst about two years ago, She came to me because she heard I was a 'healer' and had 'abilities'. I offered to treat it with Reiki and massage--just in case people looked it would seem like massage.  I did, in the lounge, and it was one of the first times I 'opened up' about my life here as a healer outside the hospital. Her neck was extremely tight. I had worked with her energy during surgery, and it was still just as 'locked up' and took a lot of effort on my part to help create some movement.

She felt it flow, but didn't get the 'instant' relief she wanted.

She has also shared how she thinks she has psychic experiences (most people do, actually)...another time when we were in the O.R.

So I got 'nudged' to share I just made the 500,000 all time 'hits' milestone on my blog...then in the same breath I asked her about school? (She wants to be a nurse first assist I think)

It turned out she has an instructor who is 'Getting her PhD in Reiki' who helped her with her shoulder pain the other day. She felt 'energy' and 'something happening' but no immediate release in her pain. It wasn't until LATER she realized she felt more RELAXED and that her shoulder wasn't bothering her so much any more.

More and more health care workers are 'opening up' to the practice of Energy Medicine; this is beautiful to see.

Getting Caught Red Handed

I was bent over my patient, Vogel crystal in hand, writing the healing code for breast cancer that had just come through. There have been many requests for this code, but it wasn't until a Reiki Request from Anne Reith--for a Valerie--who said, 'I just got diagnosed and I don't know what my treatment plan is, but I know Reiki will help, will you please send it?' --that Spirit gave this code for use on everyone.

I felt a presence behind me. My head was under the drapes, and instinctively I put my crystal in my pocket, and turned to see who it was?

It was my anesthesia colleague, My Le. She had brought in her box of anesthesia drugs and her syringes for her next case to follow in that room.

She didn't say anything. I didn't either.

But she saw.

And I'm sure she felt.

At least I didn't have the stickers all over the head with my little codes on them. That would have some 'explaining' to do...

Either way, my patients are really doing well after surgery. I think the Vogel crystal is helping.

Snowflakes

People have been commenting on my new silver earrings, little studs with snowflakes on them.

I wear them for Emoto, to show my immense Love and Gratitude. They make me happy.

What I had not anticipated is for other people to respond to them too.

People are also starting to respond to my jewelry, and ask questions. I have one more order for a bracelet, just because of this.

Tam 'Late'

There is a general surgeon who left Kaiser to do private practice because he wanted to operate more. And that he did. For the five years I have been at this hospital, I have been praying and healing this man, who does enormous surgeries at all hours of day and night. His skills are amazing, and he makes a difference on his patient's lives. But for him? He is not in 'balance'.

He hired a young grad, and that took some of the pressure off him for call. Instead of every night, now it was every other.

He is 'year of the dog' and at first, my 'dragon' and he didn't get along, not one bit.  I couldn't understand him. But Love is the Solution For Everything, and also I have given Reiki to the entire room for every patient we have.

Without fail, every time I see him, I greet him with a smile, and I think, he enjoys my free spirit. Many asians are told from a young age they are 'no good' and they must work hard to gain parental approval. They are also beaten too. And Tam is of an age he most likely came here by boat, as one of the boat people, back in the late seventies...

Yesterday, he came in the room, and the Monster Mash was cranked up on the radio. I was dancing just a little, moving to the beat. He didn't say anything, but I felt he enjoyed the team being happy to work. He said he doesn't do Halloween anymore because his children are big, and he doesn't put the candy out in a bowl outside because that doesn't work either. But he likes the holiday.

Later, he confessed, absentmindedly--you see, I am a surgeon by training for about three years but I switched, so I ask technical questions about his work and we talk freely--that the bigger cases no longer appeal to him. He enjoys the robot cases, and cases that move along.

It's working <3

The Miracle I Did Not Expect

I was on call yesterday. And I was a tough mom. I made our son keep a promise to a classmate he wanted to break. At the beginning of the year, this boy seemed nice, and he stuck up for him when others teased him for being new. I contacted the mom, and we wanted to arrange play dates, but we are both professional women with super busy work schedules. But the first promise was for Halloween.

Since then, the 'friend' seems to have a little Asperger's going on, very light, but noticeable.

His father was going to take him trick or treating, and due to recent knee surgery, it was the grandfather who was going to take him in the neighborhood that is really great for Halloween. On my year, I take our son there too.

I explained to Mana the situation, what to expect.

Well it turns out everyone in the hospital wanted to take their kids trick or treating too! (They even had Trick or Treat in Conference Room C for the employees today! )  I had time to drive home and join them, which I did.

My little one likes being SAW--because of this:

So I slowly drove through the neighborhood looking for this mask and hair to locate them.

He was like, 'Mom?! Is that YOU?'

I said 'yes' and parked the car. He whispered, 'mom? you saved Halloween'.

So I walked in my scrubs and pink jacket, looking like I had dressed up. And the friend, didn't interact much with my son--much as I expected--but two trick or treaters is better than one. And I got to talk with both grandpa and the other mom. They are NICE people, with hearts of gold, this single mom and her son. He gave me a glow in the dark finger extension,, and it's still glowing. He cracked the capsule inside to make it work, and put the part on it so it fits on your finger...they actually drove me to my car after I dropped him off with his grandmother and father...

Fortunately no one called last night, and I  slept instead of going back to the hospital.

OH!

I forgot the miracle part!!!

In the neighborhood is a haunted house. The family creates it in the garage and driveway out of black plastic hanging from frames. There was a long line out the front.  It WAS scary--just like Campus Life Haunted House was--people in makeup and costume really jumping out and following you and touching you.  I screamed with both shock, fear, and delight! The whole way through. They had done a wonderful job creating this, with little rooms with decoration. The clown room was creepy. They had strobe lights just like in the Haunted House I once worked in too...I really, really enjoyed the experience. The hospital room, the O.R was really gross too...and all that was FREE!

I had been wishing in my heart for weeks to go back in time to go through the Campus Life Haunted House once more.

I got my wish!

Ross

I have my ways...Carla surprised me with both a wish for a Happy Anniversary, and also with her acceptance and ability to 'work around' the Veil of Forgetfulness (amnesia) that many Light Workers endure to accomplish their missions.

Yesterday, I made the most romantic gesture yet to Carla, over the airwaves, on radio station KISS FM 102.7 yesterday at her work. There was a marriage proposal online, for a worker from the radio station. He dressed in his bride's native Filipino attire, and had the station call the house, and get her to the front door.

He read a prepared speech--or said it--on one knee.

And the words he said were exactly the ones I wanted my beloved Carla to hear--she knew of his love, and the resonating in her chest, was that I had something to do with her being chosen to listen to it at this time, at this place...

He said 'your cheerfulness and positive attitude make me a better man' and 'I would go to the ends of the earth, to all time, to be with you, to protect you, and to help you.'

And I did.

(He smiles)

I want to explain a statement I made yesterday morning with Carla about there 'not being anybody left to be woken up'.--this is only for the network of healing that Carla and I send our healing out to every morning. It is our 'grid', our 'connection' to about one and a half million people, who read or have ever read or watched any of Carla's work with the Reiki Doc movement. We do this every day, free of charge. These are the leaders in the next movement of the awakening project.  So, for us, our TEAM, is entirely woken up. It is like the popcorn, the kernels who are going to 'pop', have done so, and all of the 'old maid straggler kernels who haven't popped' are taken out of the picture. They are currently now on other TEAMS, or other Dimensions.

What Carla noticed for the first time yesterday was that the enormous drag on her energy was released, gone, and the energy flowed as effortlessly as water flows downstream in a river.

I look forward to what comes next. I invite you to join both of us in this next phase, and really getting to know both yourselves, and your missions, because it is time for every single one of you to 'power up'.

You will know what it is when it hits you. When Carla got on her mission, she HAD to write! It was a NEED, a physical sense of having to go do this thing that she was sent to do! And after the blog post was finished, that NUDGE would stop. Until the next time.

That is what working with spirit on your goal is like...I hope you enjoy it...we thank you for your being part of the awakening process. Hold your vibration as HIGH as possible, and the rest is automatic, as it is what you agreed to do before incarnating here on your missions...

'Moments of Sheer Terror'

Anesthesia is jokingly referred to by others in the O.R. as 'long stretches of boredom interrupted by moments of sheer terror'.

Would you like to know about some of those moments?

The Laryngeal Mask Airway, or LMA, is a mask that is inserted into the throat and sits on top of the glottis (opening in the windpipe where the vocal cords are).  Created by Archie Brain--I kid you not--the shape of the device was made by studying the casts made of the glottis and hypopharynx (just above the glottis) on cadavers. It is a well-known fact that a very small percentage of the population is 'different' from the majority of the population when it comes to the fit of the mask.

I have used LMA's daily since 1998, and never a problem.

Until recently. I had a patient who was terribly frightened for surgery. 'I have never had anything wrong with me!' they said, with angst. 'This is the first time in a hospital!'

I smiled inwardly. I know these types. They think because they never go to the doctor they are healthy. Giving anesthesia to someone like this is like opening Pandora's box: there are lots of undiagnosed diseases that are untreated and waiting to show up under the anesthetic for me.

For example, the ones who had 'asthma as a kid' have had some of the most dramatic cases of bronchospasm on waking up. Untreated asthma for decades sometimes does that. Treated asthma, that is recognized in the medical history, allows me to give breathing treatment in advance in the holding unit to decrease the risk of problems with a general anesthetic.

Can you imagine what it is like when you insert an LMA, it goes in fine, and it doesn't work? Your patient is apneic--this means 'not breathing'--and all that tight mask on your face before falling asleep buys me time to work with the airway while you are apneic. It stretches it from thirty seconds to about five minutes time.

At first I look at the monitor for end-tidal carbon dioxide, or CO2. No wave form. Not good. I adjust the LMA and check for end-tidal and mist in the tube. Nothing. I remove and replace the LMA. Nothing. Oxygen saturation is starting to drop. I know it can fall steeply.

I pull the LMA, insert a big green oral airway, turn the flows of oxygen up, add some inhalational agent (the propofol only works for about five minutes and I want to keep the patient asleep), and ask the nurse to squeeze the bag while I hold on to the mask and open the airway. I also ask for the Glide Scope to be brought to the room.

The nurse, is afraid. I have to coach her and calm her until my anesthesia technician comes into the room. The nurse is shaking. I see end-tidal on the monitor, and even though the sats continue to drop (this is normal, it dips before it goes up), I reassure the nurse. See? We are back to 98%! Good Job!

She hands over the bag to the anesthesia technician the moment the technician arrives. I get the Glide Scope ready, and secure the airway in under thirty seconds, with no desaturation. I use an endotracheal tube. I tell the surgeon, who is making comments the whole time, ones I don't really appreciate while I am working hard to get oxygen into somebody, that the patient is okay and everything is fine!

This is my typical 'moment of sheer terror', desaturation upon induction of anesthesia for some reason. It was first time for LMA. The patient did fine and woke up with no problem. This is bread and butter anesthesia, folks. This type of thing doesn't happen every day, but when it does, my reflexes automatically get to work and I know what to do. I just do it.

A highly different kind of moment of sheer terror happened for the first time recently on a patient who one may call a 'train wreck': multiple organ systems diseased with serious ramifications. This one had the vibe, as I call it. Every cell of me experiences dread at the thought of having to work on their case.

The vibe is almost always caused by the presence of dark negative entities in the patient. I can feel it through the computer, and sense it in the nurse that is giving me report.

In this situation, I accept my assignment, and do the best I can. This time it was a direct admit from ICU into a new O.R. I hadn't set up yet. Scant time to evaluate the patient, even less to clean and set up for the case. I did have my new clean meds drawn up and labeled in their syringes, though. I had prepared ahead during the case before.

This patient had the ability to be violent towards caregivers. It was documented in the medical record. This patient was heavily sedated by the ICU nurse. You had to wake them up to get them to talk to you as you examined them.

Induction was surreal. The sedation was useless when the face mask was applied to the face for pre-oxygenation. The patient got agitated, and demanded nasal cannula. That is not enough for getting oxygen in before surgery. We compromised with the mask being 'right over the face'.

This is a technical problem that I have to deal with every day. Room air is twenty-one percent oxygen. Safe pre-oxygenation requires one hundred percent oxygen. That is why the mask is fit tight. In a patient who has obstructive sleep apnea, this is crucial, and non negotiable. That is, if they are not going to hit you. If they are agitated, you back off, and hope you can secure the airway quick.

Glide scope was in the room, and ready. I only use this equipment on people with sleep apnea or difficult airways.

But guess what? During the induction--that is where I give the big dose of Propofol and also paralyzing agent--while I am watching the pulse ox reading of oxygen saturation like a tiger stalking their prey, it stops! All of the other waveforms are fine. The patient is apneic, I have thirty seconds or less, and I can't see how my oxygen in the blood is?! Quickly I scan the lines to the monitor: the little sticky probe had fallen off the finger right at that instant! We got the finger clip on, adjusted it, and IT would not read, either!

I redid the connections checked the main connection to the monitor, and it got it to work. All of this was in twenty seconds. Sats were dropping but not rapidly yet.

In the next ten seconds I got in the tube. Just in time. There were no desaturations. I secured the tube, and coordinated turning the table with the head away from me as required for the case. There are a lot of lines and wires to watch, most importantly the connections to the ventilator and breathing tube. Sometimes even the O.R. table gets hung up on the cables on the floor. I had to ask the nurse to unlock the bed because she had locked it on top of my EKG cable. It's annoying, but do-able, having to turn the table. I have my system and it always works for me.

It was just after this rush, when the case was settling in, that I did Reiki.

Remember, there are dark negative entities in this patient. They were having fun with me on induction, trying to make me stress.

(Even before I learned Reiki, I had the reputation of being the most 'Zen' of all the anesthesiologists in residency. Cardiac anesthesiologists are calm in all situations. Even my fellowship program director hired me because of my ability to stay calm when he 'fired a few cannons at me' during the interview. This skill is needed when bad things are happening and the surgeon is yelling at you while you are trying to save the patient. In a word, it is FOCUS in the face of overwhelming risk to your patient.)

I got in to the aura, and chicken that I am, called for my guides, the Guides of Compassionate Healing, to help. I make the connection, and they or Archangel Michael if it's really scary, go in and clear out the dark entities for me.

Not this time.

Go in. You talk to THEM.

Are you sure? Is it safe?

Yes.

So I was like, 'Hello? Um...this is your chance to go to the Light! No questions asked! If you don't you might get taken to get vaporized in the Galactic Central Sun!' and trying to make my Spirit voice all cheery and positive. 'Times are changing, and it is okay to come out. Here, take my hand.'

I offered both of them, and was not sure what these Dark Entities were going to do with me.

They seemed tired, defeated, and given up the fight. They made poor eye contact and came forward. They each took a hand. The entire GCH team was behind me. I walked with the two a few steps, and gently handed them over to the team that was waiting for them. I felt great Love in my Heart, for these brave souls who stepped 'out', and came toward the Light. I felt surprise that they listened and everything went okay. I felt gratitude for the team putting me up to it in the first place. I understood that the Dark entities were gone, but the remaining Negative entity removals were to be coordinated by the team over the next few weeks.

And I felt a golden, sweet honey energy from the patient, as if it was the end of a play, and the actor who played the villain comes out for the curtain call; you can tell they are nice and just played the part to make the play more fun. I was amazed at what a powerful soul was hiding underneath all that Train Wreck. The green chakra was very big and bright, possibly the brightest I have ever seen.

All of this took thirty seconds. Spirit work is like managing the airway. When you do it long enough, you gain skills, and speed is one of them. I was watching the surgery, the patient, the monitors, and the anesthesia machine the whole time I was doing Reiki--well, a form of it : ). I also gave morphine in the middle of the thirty seconds because I noted that the blood pressure had gone up (readings were every three minutes). I just put the Reiki on pause like you would something on your digital recorder at home.

So there you have it: moments of sheer terror, two on the airway, and one with Spirit/Reiki/Light.

How was the wake up in the last patient? Did I get hit? No. The morphine did the trick.

But the foley broke apart in a way I have never seen it happen when we wheeled the patient out of the door from the O.R. The nurse had to get gloves to fix it...

Mahalos and Aloha, Amber

There are no accidents.

Yesterday you served me at my favorite place to eat. I had sneaked away for my 'lunch hour' for there was a gap in the schedule.

Because of my short amount of time, you also took my dinner reservation for Saturday.

I shared that I was excited to be teaching my first group of Reiki students from work. That's right. Nurses and a surgical technologist from MY OR. I was planning on taking them out to this raw/vegan place afterward to celebrate!

Amber: I have heard about you! Madhavaya was telling me about you...

Me: Yes, I'm 'that person'.  I watch your face relax, your guard drop, and your curiosity step up to the plate.

Amber: Do your patients know that you are doing Reiki on them? Is it out in the open?

Me: No! No! Not yet! But we are getting one step closer to this goal with this first Reiki Class!

Amber: Can you share any stories of recent Reiki in the O.R.? And how your patient did?

Me:  I realize I take interoperative Reiki so much as 'normal' that I don't even think about it like that. One patient pops into my mind, and I share: There is one who was very nervous and a huge risk for a cardiac event during surgery. I can't tell you all the details--but this patient WANTED surgery, accepted the risk, and we too them to the O.R. It was a stormy anesthetic from three in the afternoon until ten at night--with no breaks for me the entire time! I was working my anesthesia and my Reiki the whole case. The next day, the patient is calling the doctor EARLY in the morning--before rounds!--asking 'when can I go home?'. This patient felt no pain at any time. They beat the odds in a big way! I could see that Amber had tears in her eyes to hear this. As an empath, I felt that her dream was becoming reality, same as mine--for HEALING to be back in 'health care', and for patients to do better because of it.

Amber: Do you have a web page? (I gave it). Facebook? (I gave that, and Twitter, too. She gave me a BIG SMILE! Then she realized the time...). I will go place your order then.

You know, sometimes I forget what I do is something most anesthesiologists do not--Reiki in the Operating Room during Surgery. Just like with transesophageal echocardiography, I see Reiki as an incredible new 'imaging technology' to apply in my everyday work. It helps me 'see' the underlying energetic pattern in disease, the one that goes far beyond the symptoms we are treating, and lets me get a 'jump' on treating THAT at the same time the rest of the team works. Anesthesia, the specialty being what it is, is work that can have 'downtime' in it, where vigilance but not activity per se is required of the anesthesiologist or nurse anesthetist or anesthesia assistant. It is exactly in those moments of opportunity that the healing paradigm can 'advance'.

ER physicians who know Reiki wonder how they ever got along without it--diagnosis and checking how treatment is going is highly intuitive in the first place, and the accuracy of it with Reiki goes way UP.

Another way in which Reiki helps me is in addressing the emotional needs of my patients, particularly in Pre Op Holding. Anxiety levels run high in patients before surgery. Pre-Op is the 'last stop before the scalpel', so to speak. Because Reiki is non-depleting of my own energy, I can afford to listen, care, and act at the bedside to help the patient be more comfortable. I also 'pick up' on any potential problems, technically, with the planned anesthetic and can get the right equipment into the room before the fact, as a contingency instead of an emergency after the fact. For example, I get a terrible feeling about an airway that might be difficult when I examine it. Together, the data on the mouth measurements and examination, and the 'terrible feeling' make me go right to the Glide Scope and not have anything to 'prove' with 'conventional intubating technique'. It saves time, effort, and resources to have Reiki 'on board' every step of the way in my patient care.

Amber, thank you for helping me rediscover this! It sounds great when I talk about it with you, come to think of it.

I bet others would like to know about this conversation too. Mahalos and Aloha!

Lunch was great! Thank you for putting it in a box when they called me back for an emergency case. I ate everything in the car in the Doctor's Parking Lot before I ran in to do my case. I am so glad you packed the fork and the straw. <3

It was Light Years better than the usual stuff in the cafeteria!

Reiki and the Old Guy in the O.R.

Today I had a fascinating experience: a man with multiple medical problems was scheduled for a biopsy of the brain.

He was not very verbal, there was in fact a language barrier between us. But he did not warm up to my smile when I met him, although the family members at the bedside did.

Surgery and anesthesia was as expected for someone in their nineties and that sick.

When I opened his aura, I felt everything was doughy. Not much clean crisp energy there. Clean and crisp is the feeling of healthy aura and energetic system.

The shock was when his spirit talked to me. Sometimes I talk with the higher self, soul, or spirit of the person when I do the Reiki incognito in the O.R. It is the same entity I speak to when people are deceased.

'I don't know how to get out of the situation I am in!' He exclaimed, in confusion and despair.
'I keep trying to say to them, 'I don't want to go on like this, I am finished' but they do not get the hint!

He had trouble with his loved ones and his sense of responsibility and ties to them.

'You have all rights to follow your life contract as you see fit. You have a purpose. Even if that purpose is to die. You are free to choose your path. Get rid of all attachments. You are free!' I said back, in my heart/mind/telepathic voice.

He understood.

Then I gave my usual symbols and healing that I do.

That made for an interesting day!

Sometimes loved ones want to check out. I see it. And sometimes I see loved ones 'wanting everything done!' to prevent their loved one from passing from this life to the next.

Life is so much more! Did you know that we can get extensions to the exit dates on our Life Contracts? Did you know that most males die around their birthday (just right after) and most females stretch their illness our to make it to a certain important family anniversary or event? Those last two facts I have read about in the medical literature. But the first part I learned from mom: when people's time to die is near, but they have unfinished business, they can extend it just a little bit. About three months, in fact. And then they go when they are ready and have said their good byes.

Have you ever known someone who has been through some hard times, and bounced back seeming like a totally different person? That is a walk in. Sometimes a soul has had enough and wants to get out of their Life Script. But someone else's spirit wants to take up where the first one left off. That is like buying a used car, so to speak! Mom recognizes a walk in when she sees one, either in a celebrity, or a politician, or someone that we know.

Another interesting fact is sometimes transplant recipients take on the likes and dislikes of the donor. My mother is a kidney recipient. She has an image in her head of the accident that led to the donor's death. He was healthy, riding a bicycle on a country road, and there was an accident with this big truck.  She never drank a beer in her life, but now she will take one with her favorite ball game. She never used to watch the ball games either! She is mom, with the same likes and dislikes, but this new set of likes is superimposed on her. She named the graft 'Charlie' for 'Charlie's Angels'. We are all so thankful for the donor and the donor's family for that gift of Life.

There is much more to Life than meets the eye! I hope this got you thinking...
