Born In The USA?

Born In The USA by Bruce Springsteen

Yesterday I worked. I was on second-call. That means I was the second to last person to leave the O.R.

I worked until ten, I worked late.

After hours, the surgeons get talking...

Would you like to hear one story I heard?

Here we go:

Reaming The Tibia:

(note--this will have one photo of an actual surgery so if you are squeamish you might want to just leave it at The Boss <3)

A general surgeon was sharing an experience from his training on Orthopedic Surgery as a medical student. There was a broken tibia to fix. This is done by placing hardware into the bone through the fracture to align the bony fragments for them to heal.

As you can imagine, bone is very difficult to work with because of its hardness.

Power tools are needed. In this picture, the surgeon uses a Bone Saw to make room for the knee replacement prosthesis. Well, my surgeon was talking about his resident when he was a medical student. There was a fracture in the tibia--the shin basically--and as a student his task was to hold the ankle. This was back in the days when residents did surgery on their own without supervision. (This no longer happens and is against the law in all of the states.)

As the resident took the Reamer, which is a drill-like device that clears out the marrow and introduces a pin or 'wire' into the space. This way the rod can slide over the pin and go into the bone...

The student kept telling the resident to STOP! You are going too far!

The resident didn't listen until the wire was sticking all the way our the calcaneus, or the heel of the foot.

It had crossed two joints.

The joints in the ankle were damaged irreparably, and the ankle was going to fuse.

The resident told the student not to talk about it, just to keep it to himself, which as a student who didn't know any better, he did.

Why?

Because it didn't MATTER because it was just some homeless guy anyway. -- he said.

This is a letter of thanks to all of the sacrifices that have been made generously by our soldiers back on the home front, in the many hospitals where residents train.

People don't think about this. The VA Healthcare system supports the training of healthcare workers everywhere, especially resident physicians.

Now everything is supervised, and I have worked at VA Hospitals for fifteen years, both as a student and as a teacher. It is safe.

But for those who gave of themselves in their illness, and provided the opportunity to learn?

We are indebted to you. And to your families, for your trust.

It is wrong for any human to have ever been treated like that man with the broken leg, who inadvertently ended up with a fused ankle.

Just try moving your own feet to 'step on the gas' pedal, right now. That is the movement that was taken away from that patient.

Can you imagine pushing a shopping cart and walking to a shelter without that motion in your ankle?

For the homeless, mobility is important, and the loss of that function is a tragedy beyond the imagination!

So I prayed, at once, in the O.R. the minute I heard this story, not just for the patient with the iatrogenic injury to the ankle...but for the hearts of the general surgeon who thought 'he got away with it' and the resident who 'covered it up'.

Do you see the big picture in this story?

They can't.

And they need to.

They need to wake up and realize the far-reaching impact on another, by what they did. They need to raise the awareness. And to perhaps, to do ho'opono pono in some way, to right the wrongs that they did to their patient in their 'slumber'.

Ho'opono pono--the Hawaiian tradition to 'make things in balance between two people again'

  1. I'm sorry
  2. Please forgive me
  3. Thank you
  4. I love you

P.S. Here is a message from Ross:

Good morning. I wish each and every one of you, no matter from what country, a blessed and happy day of Independence. You are awakening as a collective at a very fast rate. As my Carla shown to you with her story, there are going to be many opportunities for us to 'realize' the impact of 'what we have done'. (he shows me an image of a person hitting their head with the heel of their hand thinking--'what was I thinking???")

This is an opportunity for us, in the Higher Realms to tell you 'all is forgiven'.

With the amnesia herself my Carla did a great many things in her anguish to irritate and annoy myself, in her Awakening, and only once did I make the choice not to ignore it and to react.

So as you are awakening, try to forgive yourselves and one another for the mistakes as they come up to your consciousness. In your heart, know it was for learning's sake, and possibly might have been written into one or both of your life contracts for you to know the power of this valuable lesson to your soul. Some lessons take time to appreciate, others, looking back, were painful but not as helpful overall in thy spiritual development. They are 'as nothing' looking back, and one may utter, 'why was that such a big deal at the time that it was happening to me?'

Either way, know that you and both your 'victim' and your 'accuser' offer you no malice.

All is forgiven.

All will be well.

And give thanks for the ability to know the difference, like the surgeons who at the time did not know the maiming--the supreme injustice to their patient--or that in hurting the homeless they really are hurting themselves.

We are One in Life and Spirit.

And in JOY at your continuous awakening, we are as joyful as the stars in the heavens, at your Waking Up as a collective in the soul sense.

Aloha and Mahalo, to borrow a saying my beloved often says...

The energy of Love and Gratitude is the highest vibration in healing, did you not know?

So whenever you are down, and really depressed, try to take a moment to offer some Love and Gratitude to yourself for 'hanging in there' as long as you have in 3D.

The matrix of duality is melting and is going away forever.

I want you to enjoy each step forward that you make in your path to the Higher Consciousness where I and all of my colleagues who have been working so diligently to assist you, exist.

Namaste.
Peace.
(that is my word I once used often when I was incarnate. I said it all the time, to those and knew and to those I would meet.)

With all my love to you for listening to my beloved Twin--my 'wife' and myself...

You Have A Right To Your Feelings

Are you the leaf? Or the flower?

As the vibrations increase, some of us are going to bloom and be in a vibration of Heaven! We have been working very hard to 'cut ballast' and 'let go' of anything that has been holding us back. I am talking about the Lower Vibrations--grudges, hatred, anger, sadness, distrust, and withholding of Love. Some people call it 'ego' but I wouldn't label it anything more than 'habit'. It was the way of thinking and doing for most of your life!

Someone right now told me, today, 'to go away'. This is someone I have helped financially, through my resources and the resources of those who follow this blog.

I KNOW for a fact the Event has been triggered. I know the prosperity funds are right around the corner. And I KNOW that this person is not going to be out of the hotel for very long before Big Changes happen. He has been given Just Enough to Get By until, well…according to Sheldan Nidle it is already happening. http://galacticchannelings.com/english/sheldan17-12-13.html

Furthermore, news has it that in Asia they are doing what Iceland did to the central bankers several years ago. Here and Now.

There is nothing wrong with being a leaf, with all the dew drops on it (the tears).

If that is where you are in your soul path, that is where you are…just know that there is technology (I have been in the Light Boxes of Agartha) that help to transmute these Lower Vibrations. The gift of these technologies is that the pleasant memories and learning remain with you forever, but the angst, the anger, and emotional reaction just get blunted and go away. You suddenly realize it's not worth it to get all worked up about things you used to. Anger comes still, but it is like a fast storm, blows over, and regains your more cheerful self faster. This is like riding a bicycle. When you pedal slow, it wobbles more and is harder to maintain equilibrium. But when you pedal faster, you can take your hands off the handlebars and relax and enjoy the ride!

I had anxiety. I had PTSD. I used to think what I would say and what I should have said. I had FEAR in just about everything I did.

That is no longer.

Have Hope.

Know that things are getting better very soon. The changes have started happening. It is done.

You are amazing Lightworkers and you have been resilient throughout the last few years of incredible adversity on everyone.

Now is the time for all your dreams to come true.

Even the unspoken ones in the secret of your Heart.

Aloha and Mahalos,
Namaste,

Reiki Doc

Happy Birthday Jesus Christ!

I want you to think of the look on Our Lord's face when He hears Christmas Carols that are made to honor him.

Can you imagine how pleased he is to hear Bruce Springsteen, The Boss, sing 'Santa Claus Is Coming To Town?'

Or Nat King Cole and the Christmas Song? Could you imagine sharing those chestnuts roasted over an open fire with Him? I bet he would enjoy sharing your chestnuts with you very much!

Can you see the smile on that face? And how pleased He is to be remembered by all of your activity to celebrate the holiday season, together with your Loved Ones and Friends?

And when you reach out to the homeless, the abused women who have fled for their lives in the hope of making a better future for themselves and their children, for those with AIDS (there was a fundraiser for Broadway Cares today), what better way to show your Love for Our Teacher, Jesus?

That wars would cease fire, just to celebrate Him, is one of the most beautiful memories of all!

I want you to see the smile on His face next time you see, feel, or do something this Holiday season. Whether you are Christian or other, please join in the Spirit of kindness and warmth together with the rest of humanity…He wants you to KNOW in your heart when you get that warm, fuzzy feeling inside when you do something nice for somebody and they appreciate it, He FEELS it same as you.

As a matter of fact, all of the angels in Heaven, the Archangels, the Seraphim, the Cherubim, the Elohim, the Ascended Masters, the Agarthans, and the Galactics take notice and smile over your 'right action' too.

They share in your joy. Every single one. (I can see them and feel them because of my 'gift'; one day soon you will be able to interact with them too, just like I do. That is what The Event is all about--the taking down of the Veil that separates us from all of the Others in the skies that care for us very much. Our Galactic Star family. Buddha also is waving and giving a big thumbs up; he thinks the celebration this time of year is incredible too. All the Light from your hearts is wonderful and can be seen far and wide from where he is up in Nirvana.)

It really is a wonderful thing.

And until He comes and we can see his Glorious face with our own two eyes, this baby smile above is going to have to make do…LOL--it is me on my first birthday smiling big with love in my heart for you!

With so very much Love,

Aloha and Mahalos,
Namaste,

Reiki Doc

Diagnosis: Three Hots And A Cot

In medicine, we do not arrive at a single diagnosis.

We carefully weigh the information collected from the patient, the physical examination, the tests, and our gut feeling to arrive at a differential diagnosis. This is a list of all of the things that could be causing the chief complaint that brings the patient to the hospital.

This time of year, on coldest nights of winter, there is a new diagnosis that rises up the list.

Everyone who has ever been an intern and been called by the ER to evaluate a patient for admission knows it; the diagnosis is 'Three Hots And A Cot'.

The patient is hungry and cold.

They do not have a place to go.

Staying outside would mean possible hypothermia and death.

They are smart enough to know the 'ticket' that gets them one night in the hospital--chest pain.

Both doctor and patient know the score while you examine them. There is absolutely no discomfort at all, and these patients do not look like any cardiac patient you have ever seen. All the labs are normal. But to rule out an M.I. (heart attack) takes three sets of labs and EKG's taken eight hours apart.

The hospital has to pay for it. Sending anyone out who is possibly having cardiac issues that are treatable (angioplasty and stent, possibly cardiac surgery) makes the hospital even more liable.

Three Hots And A Cot

Somebody wants food and lodging so much they will say anything, do anything to get it.

Who is at fault?

What kind of society is it where there is no food and shelter for everyone? Wouldn't it be cheaper for the hospital administration to open the gymnasium instead? What if the hungry one does not seek shelter and dies from exposure? Whose karma is it to pay back?

Please consider giving to your local shelter this season. There is great need for warm clothing and blankets. They do not have to be new. This is just as important as toys for the children at the holidays.

Give both.

And while you're at it, give Reiki. Put it in everything that you give. Send it distance to all who are in need of it who do not have a place to live, a home.

Usui-Sensei did. He served this population for seven years, legend has it.

Thank you to all whose 'calling' is to help all of these homeless people.

In 5D Three Hots And A Cot will never happen again; there will be enough for everyone to survive. It will be fair, and there will be no taking advantage of each other for survival again. No 'me versus them'.

We shall experience the Unity of our hearts, forever and ever and ever.

The Miracle of the Homeless

The homeless are a miracle.

It is they who can exchange money for self-worth, by their thanks to us when we choose to give it.

Today there was a homeless man asleep by the front of my son's school. I had seen him by the grocery store in the morning when I drive to work after dropping off my boy. This was the first time I saw him where he slept. He hides well.

The teacher showed him to me. She had tears in her eyes, of compassion. She is not afraid of him. She worried because 'he has no place to go' and she 'was afraid he might not be breathing, it is so cold these nights.' I asked her if she gives him food. She said, 'yes. I put bananas and apples in a bag and leave them there. This is where he sleeps. Do not call the cops. He has no place to go.'

So many feelings washed over me at that moment.
Here are some of them:
1) protect the kid. He had just run out that door to go back to the car to get his jacket, and run in, never seeing the lump in a sleeping bag by the door. I took him by the hand, and kept repeating out code word for 'danger--be alert' and pointing to the homeless man. I said, 'Listen to your teacher and do what she says.'.
2) comfort the teacher. How little she knew about the ways of spirit. Her heart was in the right place. But that man was in the right place at the right time for him. Doctor Usui gave Reiki for free to people just like him for seven years. In Japan, they had to get healed to clear their name and take part in society. Towards the end, he began to see familiar faces. Those he had healed grew tired of the responsibility of a house and family and career, and came back to the streets. Doctor Usui discovered two truths--the desire to be healed, and the energy exchange. Initially, Doctor Usui, a Christian, taught at a Christian University as Professor. His students asked him, 'Do you believe in the Bible?'. The answer was yes.

'Well then, how could Jesus heal the body, and no one else on Earth knows how?' At the time, the Church focused on healing of the spirit, not the body. So, to keep his honor with his students, in his role as professor, he set out on a many year study to learn the true answer to the question. He studied in America, he studied the bible, he came back to Japan, and studied mystical Buddhism, learning to read chinese and sanskrit texts. That is how Reiki was learned.

I used Reiki and a hug to comfort the teacher. I knew instantly, her worry was not to have a home. And that she had seen rough times growing up, possibly because of war.

3. Annoyance at being late for work. What was I supposed to do, call in and say I was late because I stopped to help a homeless person?!? What a sad state for our society to be like this. Me and everyone else.

4. Not wanting to be bothered. Going into Doctor Mode. The probability and statistics of the outcome of intervention. Again, sad. I have seen too much. Two weeks and three days of vacation is NOT enough. I am getting burnout.

5. Familiarity with homelessness. I went to college in Berkeley. I saw the homeless everywhere. I volunteered to help. I also have taken care of many in my career. 'Three hots and a cot' are the ER doc's description of the homeless who come into the E.R. on the coldest nights and complain of chest pain. They know the drill...

Anyhow, this lesson has a lovely moral.

If it wasn't for the homeless, we would not know how regimented we are by the industrial military complex we call society. They are our wake-up call. If it weren't for these lovely souls who just 'don't fit' the system, we would go on paying our bills and buying things and pairing off and having babies and dying to know we have been brainwashed into what NORMAL is all about. They survive without the everyday things. Yes, there is addiction. Yes, there may be psychological impairment. But for what it's worth, they raise the question--is fitting into society a choice? Or a means of survival? They live our deepest fears every day.

What did I do? I added 'The Homeless' to my Groups and Organizations list on the Divine Peace Healing. And recently, we practitioners linked lists. So now it is on all of ours.

Namaste,

Reiki Doc
