My Perfect Day

Today had a dreamlike quality to it. It was very good.

The first part was a case (I can't tell you what, exactly), but with a new very BIG piece of equipment (Think Domo Arigato Mr. _____-O), in the chest, with one of my old surgeons from my old work where I was a professor.

I heard this voice say 'good morning' to me as my bouffant hat stuck on my ponytail and covered my eyes. I looked up and it was him--I had been up many a night with him over ruptured thoracic aneurysms and even once told him to re-open the chest because my TEE showed there was a kink in the coronary bypass graft when he closed it. Although he was not my mentor, he was more like a brother and a friend through the many years we worked together.

It was wonderful to feel the affection and respect of the old team, and heart team we had been, all of us, from perfusion to scrub tech, all of us, worked together as one.

This patient was as perfect as could be--no teeth (more room for the double-lumen endotracheal tube), super easy i.v. insertion, and easy arterial line! I verified the tube placement with fiberoptic scope, taped it, and the case was on!

I was shocked to see in the room a strange man who looked an awful lot like the chief heart surgeon at our old work. Why would he come here? But it wasn't him.

As I sat, my Reiki 1 student RN came up to me. She is looking into RN First Assist--where she scrubs in and helps the surgeon. I thought COOL! More Reiki opportunity. But then here is the kicker--last week, a sick vascular patient came in. Both this RN and the scrub-tech-now-nursing-student were giving Reiki as the prep was being done. They gave a lot.

The surgeon opened and said out loud, 'I don't know HOW this patient could still be alive!'.

The vascular problem had burst!

Everything went well and it was a huge save!

Back to my patient's case, at the end, the strange man came over and said, 'Excellent job on the anesthesia! The lung went down and it STAYED DOWN!' I demurred and said since the patient had no teeth it was easy. (In reality, I picked the right size tube, checked to make sure it was in position, and taped it really well). He does hearts in Dallas! I asked about the eating habits there, and he said 'It's job security' (everyone is heavy and full of heart disease). He can do robotic everything on the heart, valves, bypass, off-pump, you name it. It was really great to meet him. It was most UN-cardiac to be nice to anesthesia like that. Wow! I really appreciate it.

At lunch I saw the Egypt thing. I think this is the beginning of the end of the cabal. I was pretty excited. But when I saw a picture in the paper this morning of Obama and Dubya in some middle east place commemorating 'lives lost in a plane crash' anniversary, I saw some pretty strange body language. As you know, W is a full-on archon inside that body, with no scruples or heart whatsoever. (Both George senior and Barbara are products of Joseph Mengele's Monarch program). And they both had their hands clasped in a weird way down low over their bodies. W had no facial expression or body language consistent with the occasion--it could have been a kegger, you know? Anyhow, Obama looked at W, as if looking for a signal. Something was being 'said'. And with the media frenzy now over Egypt, it's time to meditate meditate meditate each morning over  Egypt like Cobra says until 'the fat lady sings'.

While I saw the T.V. in the Doctor's Lounge where my huge white vortex is working very nicely, thank you very much, the table of doctors present decided to slam alternative medicine. It started with a colonoscope patient asking about detoxing. An then the gay primary care doc said he was asked at a spa if he wanted to pay twenty dollars extra for seaweed extract for a massage. Apparently since seaweed 'absorbs pollution from the oceans it can absorb toxins from you.' No thanks, he said. Another spoke about the negative ion water, the liver 'flush' and kale. That's when I spoke up, put on my biggest grin and said, 'I LIKE kale!'

You see, their grief is over people getting information from just anybody on the internet. Now they DIRECT people to 'good websites':
So, alternative or not, now you are informed of some 'good sites' on the conventional front.

I prefer to sit amongst them and just know that one day, my truth will come out, all truth will come out, and they will be amazed at how cool I was not trying to 'convince' them of anything except that I enjoy kale. (everyone but me had the nasty 'choose your own' pasta bar, too. I ate a salad.)

The next case was a patient with clear signs of overwhelming metastatic disease. I gave Reiki and the transition symbol.

Then I wanted to go home.

I went in through the recovery room. Someone was coding. I saw the code team there, and walked to my lock box cabinet to put all the anesthesia narcotics away.

As I was at the cabinet, I realized I should give reiki to the poor person that was coding. I did. The spirit of that person showed up, I explained to them and Blessed Mother how I was helping, and She said she would take care of the rest of it. She took his hand and they walked away.

I walked back to the bedside. Two of my Reiki students were there, taking it in. That is good. And my friend who was running the code was doing okay. My offer for help was declined. I also, oddly enough, saw the spirit clearly in the nurse who thinks they are a doctor in the cardiology department, the one who back-stabbed me quite viciously three years ago. There was NO connection to source. All efforts were through the mind, and they were confused that 'things weren't working'. I saw all of the life, from childhood to adult, in that person in one glance. I realized the back-stabbing wasn't me. (part of the first case helped soothe the pain from that stab, too. It has been festering for some time now). A scrub tech was saying it was time to call the code (stop resuscitating efforts). But as I walked out, plan was for ICU on drips.

On the way out the door to the parking lot, I ran into a colleague walking in.

The coding patient had died. This one was coming in to help the anesthesiologist that had a bad day.

Mine, on the other hand, was excellent! A little Reiki here, a little educating the doctors there, a little thoracic wonderful and everything. It was a good day. <3

Healers Unite: A Guided Tour In The O.R.

I gave a guided tour today.  To my Reiki student, who it turns out was also my patient three years ago in an emergency case that was in the middle of the night. She thought there was a chance it was I who had done her anesthesia for her cesarean. She asked me to look it up. I did, and there was my note in the chart! What a coincidence is that?

I also had a section scheduled for today with the same surgeon who had done HER section.  I shared with the surgeon how my friend was happy with everything about her delivery and said it really helped to turn her life around for the better. The obstetrician was delighted to learn of the impact her care had made on this person. My friend had a chance to thank all of her team that was at work today, including her surgeon. ( this patient did not know, but I did, that the surgeon had surgery last year, and understood on a deep level the gratitude that was being expressed.)

For me it was a blessing--for the first time I had someone around while I was on call for OB. I have to stay on the hospital grounds for the entire call, and there is not much to do when there is down time. There was not much work, so we did an impromptu tour of the O.R.

I wanted my student, who is a server at Au Lac, to experience the energy of healing in the O.R.

We put her in 'a bunny suit' scrub clothes worn over clothing. She had a hat and booties. There were no cases, so there was no mask. She met a world-famous transplant surgeon who was practicing on the robot on his free time. He let her sit at the console and give it a try. She met a surgical technician, a gynecologist, a PACU nurse who had requested me for her c-section,  and the director of orthopedic surgery who is a world-class expert at what he does (his partner works on professional athletes).

It was exciting to share on a professional level, on a Reiki level, and on a RAW vegan level 'healer to healer'.

This is the medicine of the future; this is exactly how it is going to happen--one to one.

I emphasized over and over how we are in the same business--to make healthy, to ease suffering, and to share 'what works best' with all healers across the globe. One blog post at a time, one O.R. tour at a time ( the O.R. was empty, and she was 'from L&D and interested in a new career in medicine').

I loved watching her face when she smelled anesthetic agent for the first time! She works with High Vibrational Aromatherapy --but had never experienced anything like that! I told her three breaths, big lungfuls of that stuff, and one would be asleep and under anesthesia. She asked, 'where is this from?' I said some chemical plant somewhere (sevoflurane, a halogenated hydrocarbon inhalation all agent that is Fast On and Fast Off,  originated in Japan before it went generic). She also learned  heparin comes from bovine (cow) lung and porcine (pig) intestine. And protamine is from salmon sperm! "I didn't realize animals were so important in medicine." she shared. Yes, they are. And lots of animals are used in research too. I don't like it, but it is true.

She tried on lead apron and thyroid shield, and sat in the doctor's lounge to have a cup of chai tea from our Keurig. She looked the part and blended in. I took pictures throughout, and they show such a smile and joy at being able to experience this type of healing and know. She said , "the people here are just hanging out, and doing their work, and are very calm and capable. And friendly too!"  (An add-on case was being organized).

Want to know the best part? She offered to bring food. She went to pick it up, wearing scrubs! No one could believe it--they totally treated her like 'a doctor' and were convinced she had a surgery emergency to go do!

She came back with the food, which we shared, as we talked about the day.

She also asked me to 'do my magic' and give channelled information about her future. I said, 'let's get out the pendulum and see!' She also learned how to do the pendulum and answered my questions too. What started as a way to meet up after my trip to Hawaii, student and teacher, so she could share about seeing a ghost for the first time, and how intuition saved her from the Santa Monica massacre (she felt guided to go to the library and stayed there for two hours) turned into a first 'diplomatic tie' between conventional medicine, reiki, and RAW vegan healing.

It was awesome!

Cancer Wake-Up Call

For those of you who have experienced cancer, know that you are my favorite patient. My heart naturally fills with lovingkindness when I work with you. It is my honor and life's work to assist you.

Here is a film link on the harsh realities of cancer industry. The individual practitioners usually care a lot like I do-- but the system of treating it, and the medicines, do not pass the 'follow the money' test. It is not for the highest good and to relieve suffering, it is to make money, pure and simple, and put it into the hands of the cabal.

Here is my comment I posted on the website for the movie:

Thank you. I blog anonymously under the pseudonym Reiki Doc. I treat my cancer patients with Reiki while I give them anesthesia in surgery. I encounter many imbalances in the energy field of each patient, which I clear. Many of my patients, who do not know I am giving Reiki, love my energy and request my services again if they have follow-up surgery. The reason I am writing to you is that a colleague at work found a cure for cancer in PhD project. It was an antibody from a mouse, very cheap and easy to make. He did not understand 'why the drug companies showed no interest'. He switched to become an internal medicine doctor instead. An ER Doc told me an oncologist got upset a newly admitted patient died without his being called for a consult. Even though the cancer was end of life end stage, the oncologist was upset because he could have given one dose of chemo and billed for it in the short time between admission and death. This is the reality of our medicine, it needs change. Now. Namaste.

And here is the movie link itself:

Au Secours!

Moose is the Totem for Strength

I got out of work today before two. That used to be the time all of us in anesthesia went home--start early in the morning and finish by two. Then you could go to the beach! Well, today I left, but everyone else is still stuck there till way past dinner.

Spirit guided me to the local health food market to buy some fresh fruit. Once I got there, a wave of sleepiness overwhelmed me. I did my thing I love to do: I went in the back seat, covered myself with a blanket, used the pillow, and took a nap in the car. The sun was very bright, and streamed in through all of the windows and both sunroofs. I had wanted a Cayenne but when I went car shopping I was appalled how inside it was so dark! My car, a Mercedes E350 station wagon lets in so much light it is almost like being outside, and I adore this.

While I slept, strange sensations tingled all over my body. I was getting an energy upgrade. That is how it works, with spirit and the Ascension process. Download, upgrade, physical changes...rest to assimilate, then repeat. Exposure to sunlight is important in this; more information can 'get in'.

When I got up, I went to the local drug store. I smiled because ever since I was a child I loved drug stores. In my nana's neighborhood there was the pharmacist Bill, who would always make a big fuss over me. When I am emotionally 'down', that is where I go, any local drug store. I just wander around looking at things until I feel better. That is how I self-soothe, or used to.

This time was different. Much different. I could see--my consciousness did not 'buy' the 'status quo' this time. I saw it with new eyes. This is what I 'saw':
  • The scary Jesus in the bathroom. No, I was not hallucinating. Someone had tacked up a picture to scare the heck out of me and buy my belief with random quotes from the Bible at the bottom. It was a photocopy, and the eyes were really strange. I 'smelled fear-mongering' and 'control'. The REAL Jesus is handsomer than a movie star. And radiates such warmth and light. There is no doubt for one second who he is--and that He knows everything there is about you and loves you no matter what. But the image of scary Jesus set the tone for the rest of the store.
  • I followed the money. This is by a major retirement facility. Imagine that the store layout was a pie chart, with the amount of retail space dedicated to what sells best. The biggest slice would be Pharmacy--prominently located in the back of the store, with aisles and aisles of over the counter paraphernalia. Next came Alcohol, with one full aisle for liquor, both sides, top to bottom, in BIG bottles. The next aisle over was for Wine. After that was Makeup/Beauty/Personal Care, Incontinence supplies, and Family Planning--all of them were right next to each other and I laughed at the human condition of it all. In the middle was a 'slice' of Stuff For the Grandkids--cards, Easter candy. I smiled at the 'Cadillac of Shopping Carts' by the door for only $19.99. This my friends, is a well-planned out means to extract money from the population and at the same time keep the general Vibration DOWN.
  • The old chinese lady in front of me, with the nasty long toenails, Tory Burch bag, and Dior sunglasses, sent not one but TWO money grams. With cash. The first was for $550 (cost $573 to sent) and the second was $150 (cost $167 to send). The clerk knew her. She had done this every week. She smiled an apologized for the wait as she started her second one. I just watched, taking it all in. It was fascinating.
  • I bought sunscreen sticks for the kids. They hate to wear sunscreen. I have tried the sprays and I have tried the lotions with no success. When they were little I would not have been surprised if someone called the authorities on me the way they howled when I put that stuff on. I have seen the reports--I forget the name--but apparently these sticks are 'bad'. But my thirty dollar Lavera I bought at Target last year was crappy. It streaked and was greasy and made me white in the face. I know a good product when I see one. Our friends in the Natural Products business need to step it up. My dish soap was awful, my dishwashing detergent packets formed a lump of blue goo at the bottom of the dishwasher instead of working properly, and I noticed the surfactants in my 'Lorax-promoted' Seventh Generation High Efficiency detergent are exactly the same as the ones I used in product development fresh out of college. Not plant based. They were petrochemicals. Read the labels, and don't get fooled into using sub-optimal products just because you think they are helping the environment. Shop around all of the labels until you find one that is Green AND works for you.
  • The overhead music was filled with advertisements. It was horrible. Every other song was an ad.
Au Secours! was given to me by Spirit as I walked through the parking lot to the drug store. Here is what it means: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/au_secours

Next I went to buy the fruit at my local market. Here are some thoughts about that:

  • You have to hunt between Organic and not organic. They are labeled on the produce, but the word for Not Organic is like, a euphemism. I think today it was 'conventional'.
  • Today I asked myself when I looked at the products that were available, 'Is this from Nature?' A lot of products were not. Although I adore the taste of Teriyaki soy steak that is sold like jerky and cost six dollars a bag, it seems highly processed. I am on the fence about 'fake meats' now.
  • The Vitamin and supplement aisle is the money maker for the store. (Just like at the drug store, oui, n'est-ce pas?) The stock is endless supply. I recognized the pills I had been given for my headache. I think they were mushroom. Anyhow, although the sales people are highly knowledgeable, if you have any medical history whatsoever, in particular, liver or kidney disease, you might want to check with somebody in a medical field (naturopath, DO, chinese medicine, or someone like me) first before you add some of these supplements to the mix.  There is chance of interaction with drugs you are on, and also, that your clearance of the drug might not be normal due to your condition. Be safe. Be smart. Be wise. You only have one body, mother used to say; might as well take good care of it.
  • On second thought, ask somebody AND use your intuition/Reiki guidance. That is the safest way to be, all around.
  • There are two ways to grow old. The pharmacy way. And the health-food store way. But either way, you are not getting any younger. The difference is in your VIBRATION. Higher Vibration = Health, maybe not in body exactly, but you are more than a body, so keep that Vibration UP.
Here is the reason why I was sent. There are no chance meetings!

man in parking lot:  you look familiar. Do I know you from somewhere?
me: um. no.
man: Are you sure?
me: I work in a hospital. Maybe you know me from there. I hope not though, for your sake.
man: what is your name?
me: (I tell him)
man:  My name is Dan. (he is very large and very Jewish). Where do you work?
me: (I tell him)
Dan:  (tells me a horror story about his mother. He calls one particular chain of hospitals 'nazi euthanasia plants'. He goes on and on about how the hospital realized his ninety-two year old mother wasn't rich or profitable, and had a meeting where there was no opportunity to oppose the 'plan of care' for 'comfort'. The administrators knew that his brother was weaker psychologically, divided and conquered. His mother was kidnapped--his words--to a new nursing home because of the 'inability to pay'. He said that 'inability to pay' was a civil matter, not a criminal one, and the police should not have been involved. He said his mother said the caregivers kept asking her about her money. When they figured out that there was no money 'on record', they changed the course towards euthanasia--as he says, a medically-assisted death. Tell everyone FAR and WIDE today what I told you!.

And so I am.

Did you know that some oncologists are upset when a patient is admitted through the ER with such advanced cancer that they die before the oncologists have a chance to pump some expensive chemotherapy drugs into them? Even when the prognosis is poor and they know the patient is soon going to die?

Did you know that utilization of Hospice in Medicare patients has gone up three hundred percent in the last few years? It is a BIG money maker for the long-term care facilities.

Did you know the friendly nurse at nana's place, a personal friend of my sister, abruptly changed her interactions with me around the time nana started to take a 'turn for the worse' and 'go in decline'? This was right before the 'Hospice' 'extra layer of care' was suggested by the doctor. She couldn't look at me. She knew how to 'follow the money' and 'what was up'. My sister and I, at the family meeting, politely declined Hospice on the basis that nana was already a soft DNR, and she liked her caregivers.

Did you know that I believe Dan with his conspiracy theory about collusion on the part of the health care business, the police, and the politicians?

'Being old is a full-time job' mother said to me, with a sigh.

She is right. The system, like Dan says, treats you like a race horse. When it can no longer win, it is sent out to stud and make some new money making babies. When it has lost the desire to reproduce, it is off to the glue factory.  It is like chickens that no longer lay eggs and are turned into broth. Without the aged, hospitals would not exist. And when there is no more money to be had off a patient, here comes the morphine in the name of 'comfort', according do Dan.

As a physician, I have seen the 'morphine drip' in action. Basically, the attending physician deems a medical problem as 'going to make you die'. And when the problem gets worse, with the patient's consent, the morphine drip is begun. You dial it up higher over time, until the patient stops breathing, gets cardiac arrest, and passes. One day I was a medical student, bright and happy in my new work, and I remarked to a patient, 'a beautiful day, isn't it?'. He gruffly said, 'I don't agree' and explained today he was going to die. His COPD was end-stage, there was no lung transplant in the works, and they were turning on the morphine drip with the consent of his Durable power of attorney. He was angry, bitter, and afraid. I didn't know what to say to him, except a quiet, 'I am so sorry'.

Follow the money.

You'll be glad you did.

Namaste,

Reiki Doc

Kanaka Sick

There was a patient, an old Hawaiian woman, who had been seeing her Doctor in Honolulu for some time with no success. No matter what he prescribed, she still had the same pain in her head and in her throat. Exasperated, he looked at her chart, looked at her and said,  'There is nothing more that I can do for you. You are Kanaka sick. Go and have Kanaka medicine for your illness.'

She was elated! Her Western physician was telling her it was OKAY to seek traditional, old Hawaiian healing! She went home right away, told her family, lay in bed, and waited for the Cousin, the kahuna to arrive.

He came, took his time, stopping to bathe and to dress in his pure white kahuna priests' robe. He sat cross legged on a mat in the center of the room, and commanded, 'Auntie, tell me your troubles.'

She poured out a story of how she had a quarrel with her only son  more than a month ago. She hadn't meant it, but in anger he left home. The evil which began with the quarrel had about driven her mad with pains in her head and the strangling sensation in her throat. Her headstrong son had gone to sea as a common sailor after their quarrel. Since he left in anger, the pains had grown worse and worse and with them had come a premonition that son would be drowned at sea and she would never be able to tell him how she regretted those hard words.

The whole sad story was told. Auntie cried, everyone in the room cried.

With the voice of authority, cousin finally said, 'Auntie, you have allowed a great evil to take hold. We will ask the gods to help. If they are willing, we will drive this evil from you.' Each person in the room was given a task. Papa must go to bring back five mullet fresh from the water. Another to bring fresh ti leaves, another taro, another...brandy, awa root, salt, an egg, seawater, and driftwood from the beach.

A meal was prepared and offered to the gods. There were small bundles made for each of the gods, and put into the pit oven to cook. The good was cleansed spiritually, and blessed by Cousin. Then the gods took the essence of the food, and the family, the food itself. But every morsel left after the meal was bundled up, Cousin told Auntie to go to sleep, and if the gods were pleased she would have a dream. He went with Papa and took the bundles of left over food, and buried them on different sacred parts of the island. Cousin then came back, and sat through the night on the mat, waiting for the first rays of the sun. Auntie woke up and shared with Cousin her dream--her son was safe on the big ship traveling around the world and was coming home at the end of the trip. Auntie cried with joy as she told of talking to her son. He was no longer angry. He, too, regretted the quarrel and wanted to wash it from his mind. Yes, the gods had taken away the evil which had possessed her. The pain was gone from her head and her throat.

Cousin agreed. They took Auntie to a clean beach with shallow water. They put a special lei on her, and helped her to swim. The lei was allowed to float away into the ocean, as an offering of thanks and as a symbol of her evil floating away. Auntie's treatment for her illness was part of a medical tradition that reached back into the ancient times of her ancestors.  (Story is copied from the book, Hawaiian Herbal Medicine -Kahuna la'au lapa'au) by June Gutmanis, Island Heritage Press, section 'Prologue')

__________________________________________________________________________

My parent has an elderly mother over ninety years age, who suffers from dementia. Grandmother wanders and falls in the night. She had lost weight, markely under the care of a sibling to my parent. My parent had been the caregiver until health concerns had made that not possible, and care had gone to this sibling, who insisted everything be done their way, with no questions, and if there was a question, that was it, full responsibility for their mother would go back to my parent. Upon learning of the decline in health and weight, my parent insisted on Grandmother's admission to a local E.R. over the wishes of the caregiver.

My parent's sibling was upset, and there was a quarrel between the two. The sibling disowned my parent. Although Grandmother gained weight and began to thrive in the rest home, my parent got more and more sick. Diabetes and cardiac issues were behind a long decline, including a severe dental infection, that had set this formerly active parent back for eight weeks. Now in the hospital, I witnessed Kanaka medicine: the other sibling called my parent to apologize, and offer to drive the three hour drive to the hospital if the prognosis was poor for my parent. I saw joy spread across the face of my parent while the two were speaking on the phone. There was a release and healing before my eyes. My parent had been torn to have to choose between Grandmother and a sibling, who had been close. How can one choose between two people they love and have known all of their life?

______________________________________________________________________________

Some things are a constant in the human condition, are they not?

In Auntie's case, the throat chakra and brow chakra were affected, with symptoms that were not responding to conventional medical care. The intervention of a kahuna family member, Cousin, was required to intercede to the gods on the behalf of Auntie, who received a complete cure.

In my parent's case, the solar plexus and heart chakras were affected, along with the red chakra (teeth represent financial worry, which is survival, the red chakra). The entire family has been at the bedside 24/7, taking turns. Our parent is enjoying the attention and nurturing at the hospital of their choice, the Big Box who has been a part of our lives for decades, and even assisted with the palliative care of the other parent.

I see the connections with the energy to the disease in both cases clearly. Does this show itself to you here with the stories shared? It is my hope that soon others will start to unite the cultural and traditional methods into mainstream medicine, so that the 'failed' patients can find their equivalent 'Kanaka medicine' cure that truly works for them. It doesn't have to be one paradigm or the other that is right. It must be the connection with the patient belief and the ability to activate their innate healing power that is within them. I have seen conventional medicine do miracles. But it's not for everybody. (if you have cancer, or any other major health concern, try to find a doctor who is willing to work with you on your optiona, and always be open and honest with them on every treatment you do.)

Everyone has a right to be free of disease and suffering. After all, this IS the twenty-first century!

Namaste,

Reiki Doc

P.S. Yes I have sent distance Reiki, given Reiki in person, notified family and friends to ask for prayer, and put my loved one on the Reiki Share list. I have also been the doctor and the caring child too.

At the Crossroads

Sam is a hypothetical surgical technician. He is about forty-three and has a life that he enjoys. He works full time to support his family, never liked much to read, but is always seeing the new movies as soon as they are released. He is knowledgable and skilled in his work. The entire OR staff enjoys working with Sam.

One day Sam feels a lump. It is cancer. For someone with his training, he knows more than the lay person what type of treatment his cancer entails. It is debilitating, forces him to take time off work, and the success rate, based on what he has seen at work, is not as great as testicular or Hodgekin's Lymphoma, in other words, it is not a slam dunk. He is in it for the long haul.

Sam faces a dilemma. Everyone has a recommendation, from the family member who supports alternative medicine to his surgical oncologist who is his friend. How is he to make an informed decision? If he looks at oncology sources, they will encourage cure at the cost of painful treatments that will make him feel sick and lose his hair in the goal of eradicating disease. They will cite evidence based medicine to direct his care. If, on the other hand, he looks into holistic healing, the focus will be on relieving his suffering, treating him as a whole person (instead of a patient with disease), and focus on healing. Detoxification is a word commonly used in this kind of approach. The studies are weaker, statistically, but in his mind the focus is on his life instead of his cancer.

What we have here are two conflicting ways of looking at healing. Conventional medicine is based on measurement, observation, and the scientific method in a Newtonian Approach. Holistic Medicine, which is not readily measured and considered less effective because of this, may very well be a Quantum Paradigm: measurement itself produces observation effect and 'distortions', making the whole truth difficult to quantify and write papers.

As a sovereign patient, Sam has the right to make autonomous decisions for his health based on sound information, and not fear.

Option 1: Convention Medicine at a large facility
Option 2:  Conventional Medicine at a smaller community hospital near home
Option 3: Conventional Medicine at a Large Nationally important Cancer Center, possibly relocating
Option 4:  Allow disease to take its course. Palliative care only.
Option 5: Alternative Medicine instead of Conventional Medicine
Option 6:  Complimentary Medicine along with Conventional Medicine
A: Do not tell Conventional Providers  about Complimentary Treatments
B:  Openly discuss Complimentary Treatments  with Conventional Provider
Option 7: seek Integrative Medicine (example at Cleveland Clinic http://my.clevelandclinic.org/departments/integrativemedicine/about.aspx)

What makes sense? Itis a personal decision, one with far-reaching ramifications. Without having this kind of conversation with a knowledgeable coordinator of his care such as his oncologist, he may choose an option out of a sense of needing not to offend, or perhaps please, someone else in the treatmentof his life-threatening illness. Time is of the essence. Open communication is vital to all people in Sam's life about his treatment plan, from family to acupuncturist.

We all wish for Sam to have as positive experience as possible in light of his serious condition. Only Sam can decide for himself what is truly right for him.

A wise doula once said about childbirth: the important thing is to make an informed decision every step of the way.

For My Colleagues

Native American Healing Product: note 'depression' is the most sought after remedy...

My esteemed colleagues:

You are my heroes, my mentors, the ones I emulate with every bit of my training in anesthesia. You are my colleagues and my friends. I have worked with you in surgery almost every day for twenty-years. Together we have saved the lives of many. Together we have laughed and we have cried. We have worried about our livelihood at times, with all the changes to health care as we have known it, being cast out as 'doctors' and recast as 'anesthesia providers' and 'healthcare providers' by the bean-counters in hospital administration and the insurance industry at large.

I was both excited and enthusiastic about the week that I just spent with you at conference. I enjoyed hearing what you had to say. I knew all those four one-hour lectures took much time to put together, from research to making the slides in your power point presentations.

My take-away from this conference is that you are willing and able to explore the possibility that 'as we were trained' and 'as  usual' management of patients might have some gaps in light of new information gathered from cutting edge research. You have forged bonds with your surgeons and your neonatologists, vital lifelines of communication branching out across the borders of 'hospital turf' for the better care of your patients. Your hearts were open, minds working actively in great focus--to put together what you know so that we may go home and take better care of our patients back home.

As I sat in my conference seat, turning pages of the syllabus as you spoke, and writing notes in the margins like I used to do at school...I both welcomed the familiarity and smiled inwardly at the irony of it all: what you can't see and what you can't measure is the coming trend in taking care of health.

Let me repeat: the unseen, which represents the ninety percent of the brain we do not 'use', is the Next Frontier of Medicine. Watching your Mastery over the ten percent 'that we can establish in a random-double-blinded study, or a meta-analysis' is both admirable and sad.

There is a beautiful world out there ahead of you to discover! I have learned, with pure delight:

  • I get the big picture.
  • I talk with patients on a soul-level while they are asleep.
  • I am committed to the Highest Good that is obtainable in that Therapeutic Relationship.
  • I work in partnership with Spirit, Intuition, and Light.
  • I am a better person, a happier one, and a Healer instead of a 'technician' in my work.
Medicine right now is in the Dust Bowl of Oklahoma in the Great Depression in the 1930's.
Medicine is headed for the lushest, most gorgeous tropical Utopia, right around the corner...

People have been hiding things from us. You know the part about 'half of everything you ever learned in Med School is antiquated by the time you graduate, but they do not know what half, so you have to learn it all while you are there?'--there are technologies that have far surpassed our Journals, that have been 'not shared' by the Illuminati and the Anunaki with the rest of the world. In fact, these 'groups' have been doing everything possible to keep us away from our own innate healing capability. It is going to shock you when you find out, when you are 'waking up'.

People everywhere are excited about a new tomorrow in Health. Note that I do not call it, 'the Health Care Industry'. This is going to start with an increase in the Level of Consciousness of the Collective Consciousness. Then it is going to get more 'experiential' with Energy Medicine. Just as acupuncture and yoga have become 'mainstream', 'auras' and 'chakras' and 'physical manifestation' are coming down the 'pipeline'. Patients are going to look to us for guidance and reassurance in their self-empowerment and new-found health. It is going to good for everyone, and you might find you have some time to enjoy your hobbies that you have given up in the taking care of patients all your adult life...

I couldn't educate you at conference. You were not ready. But in my clinical judgement, you are very, very close to the level of Compassionate Awareness that is right around the bend. I forsee that the future is bright for all of us.

Who ever really wants to be sick? Isn't it time we made strides away from disease and hardship?
I know that I used your names in a prior blog post. You are my heroes and I deeply respect you. But if you ever Google yourself, and find that post, it is my hope that you will soon come across this. I am waiting to help you rediscover that which you already know and have always felt at Truth about Medicine within your hearts. This new energy is going to steep in and invigorate health care as we know it today...

Namaste,

Reiki Doc
