While you are listening, I want you to imagine a beautiful R.N., a nurse who is from the Philippines. She is about five feet tall, fifty something years old, wears little gold-wire framed glasses, and walks with very tiny steps.
This is Nimfa. She once asked me to do her anesthesia. She is a powerful Healer in her own right.
Our world-famous pancreatic cancer specialist won't operate without her.
Why is this?
Because she prays.
She prays for every single one of her patients....
Imagine you are lying on the operating table, blissfully under the care of my anesthetic.
I ask Nimfa to pray.
She and I come to you, and gently blessing your head, making little blessings with our fingers on you, she leads us in prayer: Mary LOVES you. Mother Mary LOVES you. Mary Magdalen LOVES you. It is going to be okay. You are going to be FINE. Relax and let the LOVE of God carry you on this Journey. Angels are guiding you each step of the way. All Is Well...Peace.
You wake up feeling refreshed and have an energy you did not know you have ever experienced now with you.
It is yours to keep in your heart, Forever.
(This is for you or anyone you know who is experiencing disease that is life-threatening, and for all the family as well.)
P.P.P.S. If you are ever afraid and lonely, and don't know what to do, I offer you my hand in comfort and in hope. I dry your tears with tissue; I gently dab at your eyes. I gaze at you, with my heart, for I have witnessed many a miracle, many a healing challenge, and many blessings in my time on Earth. Always know in your heart that I am with you. I have struggled with illness myself, too. I walk beside you both as a Healer who is your Friend, and as an Angel who has been sent from Heaven to heal the sick. You are NEVER alone. My heart is always with you. Peace.
Hello everybody!
I am Post-Call.
I just finished my overnight shift at the hospital where I worked on Labor and Delivery.
My anesthesia responsibilities are:
for all mothers in labor who want epidural placed, to get them and maintain them
for all mothers who need surgical delivery (c-section, either scheduled or emergent)
for all postpartum tubal ligations
for all procedures involving retained placenta and postpartum hemorrhage
for any post-dural puncture headaches on postpartum--evaluate and treat
manage post-op pain for the first twenty-four hours after c-section
all emergent intubations in ICU that are not Code Blue
She was writhing in pain. The water broke, and her c-section was scheduled for next week. She had to go to surgery urgently.
In the OR she could barely sit still from the painful contractions. Position was suboptimal and technically difficult. There was rotation in the spine, and the subarachnoid space was quite deep.
I had to put the needle in to the hub, and push a bit to get into cerebrospinal fluid (CSF).
Block worked, delivery followed, and routine post-op orders were placed.
Whether you believe in obstetric anesthesia or not, I don't mind how you think one bit.
I want you to know that I think.
While I am doing this (above), I am taking in all of this, and giving Reiki at the same time to help it happen:
I have two patients (mother and child), not one.
I have two 'customers' (patient and surgeon), not one.
In every child that is born, I see this miracle--I just do.
It doesn't matter what the family ancestry is...
Childbirth is holy every single time.
Last night I intubated someone I had stayed up late at night, with the team working to save their life in the O.R. last time I was on call there. I asked if they remembered me--the patient didn't.
I always check to make sure the person wants the help before I knock them out briefly and put the tube in. Sometimes people are coherent, and say or nod yes, as they are experiencing air hunger and want relief.
Sometimes they are obtunded, and can't respond. For those, I assume since I am being called in by their ICU team, that the patient and their family say 'yes' to my skills.
So I do this:
In the back of my mind, I am thinking this:
Are you ready to check out?
In my heart, I also think this:
Where does it start?
And where does it end?
Love lasts forever.
It is my hope with my work, that those of you who are under my care, can feel my respect, love, and gratitude for you the whole time I am taking care of you.
Those cases are done by heart surgeons, at least where I am.
And those surgeons like to 'cut at eight'.
Well, on Fridays, our cases are booked to begin at eight. I don't show up until seven-thirty. And I forget that all heart surgeons, everywhere on the globe, like to 'cut at eight'. This is because they like to finish their cases by noon, eat lunch, and go to their clinic after their cases, or perhaps to another hospital for another case that is booked.
Heart surgeons are busy people.
I am a single mother who used to do hearts. I don't do them any more because of a personality conflict with someone who was dangerous and has since been let go from the system--a surgeon who has killed people, fortunately not mine, by not making sure without a doubt the cardioplegia was actually going IN the right place. (this isn't the point of my story).
My surgeon showed up early and berated me and my colleagues for 'being late', when in fact, I WASN'T.
My friend, a mom of twins, set things up and offered to do the arterial line. She and the others reminded me of some surgeons who book cases for when they like to cut, not when they 'go in the room' like ninety percent of the rest of our surgeons.
I was rattled.
I was really fighting my emotions.
Emotions rattled are not a good thing for anesthesia.
Luckily the case went well. And although the surgeon did his best to annoy me and distract me and rattle me and humiliate me, I stood strong. I also fought the urge to defend myself and to engage.
I made sure to let them see my face over the drapes and watch their work when I was caught up with my charting and orders in the computer.
Let me say this guy is NOT the one that booked the case, but he likes chest cases more, and the other guy let him do it. He was telling me how to do my job, literally. But I took it with a grain of salt, and accepted it as 'constructive criticism'.
Something weird happened as I was watching...I realized this is his crack!
Doing cases and having control and his schedule be on time is his crack that gives him pleasure and he can't deal with it if he doesn't have it RIGHT AWAY...
Well that re-started my consciousness!
Who am I to get in the way of him getting his crack? At least his crack helps patients! (the next case had such an incredibly fast turnover--because of me--that the surgeon thanked my anesthesia tech. And I also got him to confess he has a love for Paris and all things French--when he said my last name out loud. I started speaking French and he was impressed. He did TWO cases by noon and was quite happy.)
Shhhhhh.
Right now my son is watching Captain Phillips on pay-per-view.
I can't stand it.
But 'action' is for most males, a form of 'crack'. As he is embracing his masculinity, who am I to get in the way?
As a matter of fact, yesterday I made him attend Martial Arts (he wanted to skip), and he gave his best effort in a long time.
I also put him in a kayak and told him to enjoy his freedom, he was welcome to be near me on the paddle board, but where else can you enjoy doing exactly what you want to do as a kid?
My Divine Feminine is ENCOURAGING the Divine Masculine that is around me to explore, to be safe, and to do what Spirit is telling it to do... This goes for my son, my surgeons, my coworkers, Ross, the Galactics, my fellow Lightworkers...even my pets.
You may not have known, but I have been tending to a snake injury I inadvertently caused in my son's pet, a six foot ball python named Cecil. He's three, and while I was helping him peel, it was like the skin of some on steroids when you remove tape--a top layer came off. I've been doing everything I looked up on the internet, and it's been working beautifully. Today, I soaked him and helped him shed his skin on his head. There was an eye cap that got stuck. And I had to remove it. You know, that snake trusted me the most he ever has, and let me take care of it?
Even snakes can learn when you are tending to their needs with your heart...
And for that?
In the Garden, as I sent Galactic Reiki, a new sign came in. This is the sixth one, and has a name, which means 'see the offspring' in Igbo (it's close). Igbo is the native language of southeast Nigeria, on the coast (these Galactic symbols are Sirian)--and it is Right Next To The Congo!!!
The meaning is to see the fruits of our labors, to resolve differences and problems peacefully, to work together to build a new future for us all.
I will teach the symbols of Galactic Reiki when the time is right for it. In the meantime, I will continue to sent them to you every day as Spirit suggests, in the free Reiki healing I send to all who read this blog (or have ever once read it), follow Doctors With Reiki on Facebook, and follow on Twitter (@usui2102).
The surgeon burst into the room while we were readying the patient for his next case.
'I can't believe it! I just saw our last patient. She is totally AWAKE, has NO PAIN, and the pain in her arm she has had for the past two years is SUDDENLY GONE!'
(this never happens with pain patients, not this fast. Ever.)
Our patient looked 'like a rose' in the recovery room
He wanted to know how this miracle happened.
I gave Reiki. But should I tell him? He's not that open...besides...there was something bigger I had to confess...
Hey? Doctor? I have to share something I think you should know...
After THIS:
And before THIS:
I did THIS:
Right as she was about to fall asleep, I leaned in close and whispered in her ear, 'While you are sleeping, why not let's take Doctor's credit cards and go shopping together! You pick the place, and I'll go with you. Won't that be FUN? You can go any place you like!'
And she smiled a big grin as she drifted off to sleep...
The surgeon stopped in his tracks.
He paused.
He looked at me.
I didn't know what he was going to say, but at least I had it off my chest that I had told him what I had done...
And he smiled.
He said, 'Whatever it takes to make her relaxed and comfortable, that is okay with me. Besides, she is never going to remember!' Then he kept muttering about the miracle...
Sometimes, all it takes is a woman's touch to make the healing complete...
It seems like lately there is an interest in anesthesiologists--almost as if there is one more post on that sign post, that points to the right and says 'anesthesia' on it.
The other night at dinner, my boy and I had the following conversation:
kid: Mom, you don't actually DO the surgeries. You just give the DRUGS so they can do them, right? mom:Yes, that's pretty much how it works? kid:Mom? Do you give them HEROIN? mom: (surprised) Well actually there is no clinical use for Heroin. But what I do is have access to the strongest drugs in the hospital in that family--morphine, dilaudid, fentanyl, demerol, remifentanil, and duramorph--and give them to my patients so they don't have pain in surgery. I have a little key I wear around my neck, and I have a lock box full of these drugs that only anesthesia has access to at all times. Nobody else in the hospital can give them in the way we do. As a matter of fact, every time I write orders in the hospital electronic system, I have to justify what I am giving and why because it is so much. Anesthesia physicians are the only ones in the hospital who are trusted with these very potent medications. (well, CRNA's too) kid: (gets bored and changes the subject)
We my boy wasn't the only one who wanted to know what I do--my Twin Flame wanted to come to my work the other day.
Ross is in Spirit, across The Veil, and is a Galactic. I clarified because I know he is always able to watch me, and was not sure why he needed to be present but I gave my consent.
I didn't even notice him there, his Presence. Just a little bit, from time to time, far off in the back. That was cool--that he was interested in what I do, and also that he knew how to observe and not be like some of the non-medical 'observers' who job-shadow you, ask too many questions, and get in the way...I love those students but sometimes they don't 'get it' that you have someone's life in your hands, and that you really have to pick the time to talk to them because you have to pay attention to your patient, you know?
Here is what Ross saw:
The Surprise--An LMA did not seat right. The patient desaturated on induction, but after I had taken off the gloves. I had to give my team directions on how to assist me as I put on a new pair of gloves, took the LMA out, put in an oral airway, and masked the patient using two-man mask ventilation and coaching the nurse who was squeezing the bag the whole time. That LMA went in FINE, just like it does every day, there was no reason for this to happen and it couldn't have happened at the worst possible time (when I thought everything was 'okay'). But I handled it with confidence and fast action and faster thinking, and the patient did okay.
The Angel--the little old lady who did something less than three people have ever done in the O.R.--she gave ME advice on a soul level as I got into the aura and did Reiki on my patient. God is going to have a healing for YOU. She smiled and said as she stood in Spirit to the right of the surgeon as he worked, from my view at the head of the table. The loving confidence in her tones was as touching as the message itself. I checked on her in PACU later, like I always do to make sure people who are to go home after surgery are ready. She smiled at me, and assured me everything was fine. Instinctively I reached out and touched her gently on the head--I could feel the curls in her perm a little crunchy--and said, 'You are ready to go now, as much as we would like to keep you here with us...' with pure unconditional Love and Gratitude in my heart. She smiled as only a human angel can smile, and relaxed because I let her know she was loved and appreciated for being our patient.
The Guy With The Scary Airway--the surgeon had no concept of the danger that was presented by the history of radiation to the neck. He was working on a different part of the body. But I spent a long time in pre-op interviewing this patient, making 'chit-chat' but at the same time seriously examining everything to make sure the anesthetic plan was going to work and going to be safe. It was, and everything went on beautifully.
The Tragedy--fortunately, this case of 'getting one last good thing' out of someone who is going to die from overwhelming disease went to a colleague. They took my OR, and I had to go down the hall to an open one for my next case in my lineup.
The Life-Changing Neurological Injury--This is a survivor of serious life-threatening injury, who has been severely incapacitated as a result. The mind is sharp, but the rest of the body is very impaired in its functioning. The talk in Pre-Op Holding was the most important part of this case. Patients with this condition are trained to 'direct their care'. It was almost like we were interviewing each other for a job! I was able to demonstrate my knowledge and confidence with handling the anesthesia for this condition, and also led the team in the O.R. to deliver the highest possible care to this patient who was having a different surgery that was not related to the injury. I saw the look in the care-giving spouse's face that the 'nightmare was over' on the anesthesia part for the surgery. That look was one of the most rewarding things I have ever experienced in all of my years taking care of patients in the hospital.
The Fighter--This was a first--the patient woke up on time, but didn't like the breathing tube. I removed it, and the patient didn't like the oral airway. I took it out. They were clearly awake. Then the patient didn't like the oxygen mask from the circuit, and started to grab at my wrists to take the mask off. But the patient didn't breathe as they fought the oxygen. They turned BLUE. Again I directed my team, but the struggle between all of us and the blue patient was physical. There were three of us and we were losing against the patient. So something inside me said, 'F%*# it', and I reached to the anesthesia gas on the circuit and cranked it all the way up. 'You are going BACK to sleep!' and in three breaths (that's how long it takes when it is cranked all the way up), this patient was relaxed and calm and normal pink color again in no time. The second emergence from anesthesia was smoother. A little help was needed in recovery room to get this one to breathe and not fight, but it wasn't like before. The patient could listen and with loud reminders, take a deep breath. Clearly this one had undiagnosed obstructive sleep apnea--the behavior was classic--and also some sort of anxiety disorder that could have used medical treatment.
Ross was very quiet, and observing all, without my really being aware of it. It wasn't until I was catching up on my billing slips that I began to see more of myself and my anesthesia skills I have amassed over the years in practice--the diseases of my patients had included unstable chest pain, atrial fibrillation, multiple sclerosis, quadriplegia, angioedema to dilaudid, cancer, morbid obesity, chronic pain, broken bones, gynecology issues, kidney stones that get lodged in the ureter, even a broken odontoid (look that bone up! And the surgery for it. It's a trip!)...
It was as if I looked at myself for the first time, and saw how much I enjoy helping people and how much I add to the clinical care with my skills and knowledge and fast intervention when problems come up.
Then I felt Ross!
I also noticed the Love of my coworkers for me, and their noticing my new Happiness because of Ross. They don't know about him, but it shows...and they ask why I am in such a good mood and so happy.
The surgeon with the back pain who is getting the daily distance Reiki treatments, same as all of you, noticed a significant improvement in her back pain within one week of her asking for Reiki.
Profile of An Angel--Mama Flor
Mama Flor is a feisty Latina who is not even five feet tall. She brings much love and Light to the O.R., and she is very much loved. For example, she talks to St. Jude about me, and lights candles and gave me her rosary to wear around my neck, until my thyroid situation is 'all cleared up'. (there were two masses, one large enough to need to be removed, but benign, and the other, looks not so good but was too small to test with a needle. I need to follow up with my ENT, but the holidays made a delay.)
She told me, in private, that she is retiring soon. The people at social security told her, 'Wow! Congratulations!' They explained she had worked fifty years straight, with no time between jobs or drawing any benefits early. She was going to have a nice income after she retires.
Flor said, 'I am going to enjoy my money before I die.'
Here is the story she told the O.R. earlier in the day, much to our delight...
She was new to the hospital and was working upstairs. She was in a patient room, and was trying to lift something to clean in the room. She didn't realize it was a commode, with a bedpan full of pee and poop in it. She felt resistance, and she lifted. She lifted hard. And then next she new, the bedpan splashed all over her, from head to toe, with pee and poop.
She jumped immediately into the shower and was crying and washing herself off, right there in the patient's room.
Her supervisor came looking for her.
Supervisor to patient: Where is Housekeeping?
Patient: In the shower.
Supervisor has a look of shock: Why is THAT?
Patient: It doesn't look good.
Supervisor looks in the shower: Flor? Why are you there?
Flor, in tears: Don't make me explain what happened just look at the floor and that explains everything!
Supervisor: Oh my God, Flor! What can I do?
Flor: Please get me a clean uniform. Please get me some mouthwash and a toothbrush because it went in my mouth. Please go to OB and get me the underwear because mine is all wet.
Her supervisor got her all of those things, and Flor wore her wet bra underneath.
Isn't this like like of earth? The experience of Duality? The shock and horror of the density of being in 3D, with time, and competition, and unclear truth? http://heavenletters.org/slaying-the-dragon.html
It makes you feel like you are covered in human wastes!
Yes Flor got clean. She learned. And it never happened again. Plus, her supervisor and patient were sympathetic to her plight.
The moral of the story is this: no matter what you experience on Earth, in your Life, you will be cleaned and made fresh and comfortable as if nothing unpleasant ever happened when all is said and done...
Aloha and Mahalos,
Namaste,
Reiki Doc
P.S. For two days now Blessed Mother has been telling me 'You will have a miracle that you never expected would happen. You will have a healing that you never did expect!'
I am like, 'I know I belong to Ross and I am happy! How can there BE any more miracle than that???'
When I find out I'll let you know. <3
P.P.S. With one of those patients I removed an archon and sent it to the Galactic Central Sun. Poof!
Anesthesia is long stretches of boredom interrupted by moments of sheer terror.
It's true.
There are moments where the life of your patient is not certain. They stop breathing. They have cardiac arrhythmias (new, irregular heartbeat that sometimes is not so good). The breathing tube won't go in.
How does Reiki help in these situations?
I don't know.
When I have them, I come home badly shaken. My nerves are worn out. I recognize the need to 'rest and recharge' after a day like that.
How many of those moments of sheer terror end up horrifyingly awful?
Fortunately very few.
Here is one typical example--minimally invasive surgery requires maximally invasive anesthesia.
Surgeon wants 'very light' anesthesia for the case to go as hoped. Patient needs to be able to answer questions intra op.
Patient is nervous.
Patient isn't responding to usual doses, for whatever reason.
You give more.
This is easy to fix when they are on their back! LOL. Most of the time they aren't!
What do you do?
The training kicks in.
You call for help. Extra hands are good. Especially trained anesthesia hands.
I have grabbed a handful of hair and lifted the head up from the prone position to get the airway open.
Sometimes you bring in a bed and flip them on their back.
Oh yes--the first thing is one hundred percent oxygen and turn the anesthesia off. Wake them up!
Sometimes I am the one who calls for help.
Sometimes I am the one who comes in to help when asked over the overhead speaker--'any anesthesiologist to room 5'…
Sometimes it's something I've seen before.
When the tube won't go in, I know the tricks.
I make it look easy.
The surgeon watches me.
So does the other anesthesiologist.
And the nurses and techs.
My reputation goes up each time that happens.
And I smile and leave, once everything is okay, and confide: I have gotten myself into trouble more times than you--my career is longer--and I've gotten myself OUT of trouble more times than you, too.
Either way, I had to go take some time to chill and recharge.
Whether it's your moment of terror, or mine, the end result is 'a close call' and 'I'm drained!'.
P.S. sometimes my knees shake. They just shake on their own while the terrifying thing is happening. I don't let on. Even though part of me wants to run home and hide under a blanket, the training kicks in. And it works!
Last night at four in the morning, while I was doing the fourth epidural in a row, the new mother was really in a lot of pain. The charge nurse, who is experienced and excellent and compassionate, all at the same time, explained to the mother, 'giving birth is a (gestures with thumb and first finger) little slice of hell--but it is so worth it!'
Did you know that same nurse has been bit by a patient giving birth?
It was back in the day when medi-cal patients were not given epidurals unless they paid for them with cash. Insurance didn't cover it. They threw things, hit, bit, cursed, scratched, and spit at the nurses in the delivery room.
The OB gyn on call last night shared to me, in a low whisper, that on her way in to the hospital after doing an emergency gyn case at another hospital, she hit a dog with her car. She was heartbroken. It just ran out in front of her, and there was nothing she could do. She saw it wobbling but upright when she looked in the rear view mirror. Just then another car hit it. It went down and didn't move. She brought the car back to take it to the vet if it was alive. It wasn't. She had to come in for her patient here, who was not ready to deliver. I invited her to go to the Doctor's Lounge in the Main O.R. to get a cup of coffee, and talk. She accepted.
Did you know OB-GYN is one of the most malignant training programs in all of medicine? She trained on the East Coast, where it is even worse than here on the West Coast, but even still, it was so horrible that four of her class left the program. There were 'five bitches', four chief residents and one attending, who 'picked on everybody, especially the men'. One male, was not 'able to keep up'. He couldn't understand, even when given her notes she took and kept organized, what admission orders were, what a daily note format was supposed to be, how to follow up on routine labs. There it was explained clearly once and then expected to be perfect after that. He was asked to go. The other was a male who genuinely WAS competent, but the Chiefs didn't like him. He left to go into Sports Medicine because of the bullying he experienced. Another woman left to go to a different training program in the South to be with family. And another stayed at the hospital but changed specialties due to the stress.
Being an OB-GYN resident sometimes is like being in the Lindsey Lohan movie, 'Mean Girls'.
Yet obstetricians brave all this, and sacrifice not just their time but their being in such a malignant environment, because they truly love what they do. Our hospital is exceptional in that the different private practice physicians from all of the different groups socialize together. It is very cohesive, which makes for a better program. We are also all Facebook Friends, the nurses, docs, postpartum, and neonatal teams.
I won't begin to describe the anesthesia end of things--think of it as trying to his a moving target--
What I will share with you, as a teaching point, is how to master suddenly changing scenarios, full of drama, and risk to life.
I was asked to see a mom who had just delivered who had questions, at around seven p.m. I had so many clinical responsibilities (patients) needs I couldn't get to her room until ten at night. I politely explained the situation, and that I had not eaten dinner yet. She said, 'Do you want half of my sandwich?' I declined, saying it had meat and I am vegetarian. She said, 'Pick the meat out and eat it anyway.' which I did. Half a croissant, with lettuce and tomato did wonders! We talked through the question and arrived at an answer and it was very pleasant.
The energies were non-stop throughout the day, one 'drama' after another, and one in which the fetus actually was at risk. I fixed it with my knowledge of drugs, and although I had to leave a c-section (while they were closing) for five minutes to manage it, I confessed to her when I got back, 'I just saved the life of the baby by adjusting the blood pressure. No one will know it but me, and now you.'
What was different this time was the lack of emotional undertow into the drama/rapidly changing clinical situations. By 'hanging on to source and being grounded' I quickly prioritized the work and carried it out. One chart I had to complete at eight o'clock the next morning, because there was NOTHING and no time to chart when everything happened all at one time on the unit.
If the energies of the changes on Gaia arrive as I have a hunch they will, it is going to feel for you like the last OB call did for me. Handle it as best as you can without getting 'sucked in' to the swirling storm of emotions. Remain clear-headed, prioritize, and act. You have what it takes to 'get the job done' and help others who are having trouble adapting to the new energies and changes that are about to come with it. You are about to go where angels 'fear to tread'--you alone are totally equipped for it, whether you know it or not. You signed up for it. http://aquariusparadigm.com/2013/11/14/taryn-crimi-angelic-guides-first-responders/
I know you will be great at it! Just think of all we had to do on OB to bring a baby into the world--all the training, all the experience, and all the love we have for what we do.
You are like us helping Gaia 'give birth' to the New Society, the Golden Age where everything is fair, just, and highly pleasant!
I had just moved in to my latest place, and was working on a Book Chapter. In academic medicine, you are expected to work for free to 'make a name for yourself' in this 'publish or perish' world. I have several citations, including some where I am lead author, but in smaller publications, not randomized, double-blind studies.
When my residency program director approached me on a book chapter, for a book named after the surgeon I adore for his amazing work, I leapt at the opportunity. Every free minute, I wrote, on the outline that was given me. It wasn't even a whole chapter, it was a half, but the writing was slow and it took all of my weekends.
I was dating at the time, but I couldn't meet anyone single who would put up with the hours that I was working 'for my future'.
At the deadline, and it was close, I sent all of my packet in, my hardcopy, the file on the word processor, everything. I sent it insured certified whatever else you can purchase at the post office...
My program director hated it. It came back in red red red and I had to do it all again.
I did everything. The list of references alone took forever to do, in some certain format that was different from what I had first done.
The problem was he wanted to have the chapter sound like him, but I was not him, and female at that. So I never heard from him again after I sent the last edits.
I never got the book. As a book writer, that's what you get for your time and sacrifice on your chapter--a copy of your book.
I figured he destroyed everything and denied me credit.
Two nights ago I was thinking about this time of year, and wondering what ever happened?
Last night I did a google search on myself. Most of it is my name and where I work by all those 'Doctor Rater' sites.
But on page four, there is was--Contributor to that book, with my name on it! I searched and searched until I found a PDF copy online. There it was, my chapter! It looked different in print. I hardly recognized anything. I didn't recall sharing a chapter; he must have had a resident 'add on' to what I had written.
Every word sounded exactly like my Residency Director! But the basic 'gist' of the chapter, the illustrations--they were exactly what I had done, only BETTER! Nicer tables and nicer graphics.
It was still me! My work hadn't been rejected! I got the credit for it.
So in a major textbook, for a subject in surgery I adore, who was pioneered by someone who liked the Tweety Bird pin I wore on my medical student white coat...I am there. I am there to describe the anesthesia for this subject.
It feels so nice to know I was not forgotten, or worse.
Just this year, I wrote a chapter for another book. It has my real name in it. It was just published last month.
I bought my own copy!
One day soon I will share who I am with all of you. At the Event, I am 'on' as me, not just Reiki Doc.
As a 'test drive' I met one of my Twitter followers when I was in Victoria. This person was kind enough to agree to keep me 'anonymous'. We went out to eat. It was fascinating to have the chance to be myself, and just talk instead of write.
I wondered if my appearance would be what they expected. And how they would react. That's why I treated. I won't always when I meet fans, but this was the first and I wanted to celebrate it so I will always remember.
People are starting to wake up from the hypnotic actions of the Mithraic, ever-controlling Cabal and Illuminati! I saw it in my dream last night.
The 'higher sense' of people, no matter how deeply asleep they are, is starting to 'move'.
I saw it, in the most ridiculous way possible (I'm sorry): it was like 'the wave' where people stand up and yell and wave their arms that passes through the crowd at a football game in a stadium. People had the 'sense' to 'figure out' what was happening and got the sudden desire to 'be a part of the event' as 'the wave' passed over them. It was their good-nature, their wanting to 'be a part', that got them to participate and make it great!
This has never happened before in all of the Universe--a planet where people inhabiting it were 'asleep' and later 'woke up'.
The rooster sings his song. The little one taps your arm and says, 'Mom!' You hear it at once. Whether you are in a deep sleep or not, you hear it and you know you're not going to easily roll over and go back to sleep again. This is 'emergence' from Natural Sleep.
I am an expert in Unnatural Sleep--although sleep with anesthesia is 'no different' by EEG brain waveforms from Natural Sleep, the way one 'gets there' definitely IS Unnatural.
The Illuminati can only hold the anesthesia in the news media and entertainment and political systems for 'so long'. Already now, the number of countries that are NOT Illuminati-controlled outnumber the ones that are by a number in the hundreds of 'free' to seven that are controlled. The seven are BIG countries for sure, but as the etheric and astral planes lose their 'non-physical negative entity Leaders' by the hundreds of thousands each day, the rest of the organization on the ground is losing the 'brains' of the operation. Most of the 'structure' is disintegrating on its own right this minute! (Just like in the car when it sputters and lurches as it runs out of gasoline, you can expect the Illuminati 'organization' to do some pretty desperate 'stuff' before it stops completely.)
Then as the 'anesthesia' for the masses starts to be 'taken away' or 'not given', the people are going to 'come back to their senses' just like in the O.R.!
Here is a timeframe of what I look for before I can take someone to the recovery room:
The surgery is coming to an end. I start easing off on the anesthesia gases. I turn down the dial.
I also start easing on the mechanical ventilation, if I have been using it. This gets the patient to start breathing on their own.
The slower ventilation rate allows for the carbon dioxide in the blood to rise. This triggers the respiratory drive and desire to breathe independently.
I reverse all muscle relaxants with drugs that accomplish this.
The BIS monitor I use 'reads' the brain waves and gives me a 'number'. Forty to sixty is 'deep enough' for surgery. I allow it to rise near seventy, which is 'groggy but awake'. I time it so that by the time the last dressing goes on the patient 'wakes up'.
As the brain comes 'online' I start looking for certain movements of the face. People swallow. They grimace. They suck. (these are all 'primitive reflexes' of the brain that are associated with suckling a breast as an infant.)
I watch the eyes. I actually open the lids and look for the alignment of the pupils. At 'stage two' the excitatory brain is awake but the inhibitory brain is still 'under anesthesia'. The eyes have divergent gaze, or 'lizard eyes'. This time is dangerous to pull the breathing tube; laryngospasm or 'slamming shut of the vocal cords' is highly possible.
Once the eyes have parallel gaze, stage two is ended. I now can interact with the patient again. I suction out with a yankaur the spit in the mouth, and look for a frown. I bend down and speak kindly in the ear, calling the patient by name and say the surgery is finished, it's time to wake up!
I am watching closely for signs of muscle strength, excellent respiratory function, and ability to cough and protect the airway from the patient's own spit.
At the point the patient is asked to follow commands--open your eyes! Squeeze my finger!
Then I pull the tube. I watch the breathing carefully from that moment on all the way to the recovery room. This is where they are permitted to 'sleep it all off' and become even more awake before being sent home or to their hospital room.
The anesthesia can't be given to the people forever--not in the O.R., and not in Spiritual Anesthesia like the Illuminati are doing either. The time is coming for people to 'awaken' and discover they are able to do all of the five 'clairs'--clairvoyance, clairaudience, clairsentience, claircognizance, and clair (smell something). This is normal for all beings who are alive in the Universe! It is part of being alive if you have an aura, and EVERYTHING has an aura! The only thing is that with education, and society, and limited technology that has been permitted us, we not only put that 'spiritual ability' of ours to sleep, we made sure that each other kept it 'asleep' too by making fun of everyone who was 'different'. The media ridiculed them. Mocked them. And made everybody who has ever had a 'message' in some way from a loved one who has passed keep quiet about it and keep it to themselves. This made for anybody who has ever seen or felt or experienced the presence of an angel to stay mum about it and never tell a soul. And this is why anyone who has ever experienced anything 'extraterrestrial' to either look like a freakazoid in society for talking about their experience, or suffer in silence that it wasn't like the movies at all--the visitors were just like everybody else....
Now you know what to look for as the public starts to 'wake up'. There is a lot of 'movement' for about ten minutes before the patient opens their eyes and can go to the recovery room.
We are in that period now, metaphysically.
It is exciting.
The whole Universe is watching us right now.
It is a first time, ever, anywhere, that anything like this has been allowed to happen.
In the meantime, help Gaia as much as you possibly can. The more we help her, the more she can 'shake off the bad guys, the fleas and the ticks of negative entities'.
Be a good example for those who are asleep. But allow them to 'wake up on their own'. Don't rush them.
This is an actual correspondence carried in private messaging on Doctors With Reiki. I admire all doulas, especially ones like this who make the footwork in advance to make everything smooth for their client, even checking in with me like this before coming to my hospital on a day where I didn't work and had a colleague.
Hi ReikiDoc!!
I'm a "Reiki Birth Hypno-Doula" I recently came across your page. So happy to have found you. Your stories, and thoughts that you share resonate so deeply with me and really bring me joy. I feel a very strong connection to what you do, and hearing your perspective is important to me, as I am a Childbirth Educator who teaches Hypnobabies childbirth hypnosis. (we have a very progressive and 'open' Labor and Delivery department--Reiki Doc) My students employ real medical hypnosis "hypno-anesthesia" for comfort during birth. I am a birth doula (hypno-doula). I am also a level 2 Reiki practicioner since April 2013.
In approx 1 week, I will be attending my first planned c-section with my Hypnobabies student & doula client. I am on call for her birth & while I know she wanted a natural, vaginal birth, I am at the same time happy, humbled and grateful to be able to support her as a doula and also bring Reiki into the OR!!
My client/student has stated that her OB is ok with my presence there as a doula, but that the anesthesiologist makes the final call on me being in the room with her. Any advice if it looks like the anesthesiologist wants to shut me out? Something I could say to reassure that I will not be whatever problem or obstacle they may be envisioning me to be?
I am a Level 2 so I can send distant healing from outside the room, though I am just trying to focus on the outcome we DO want. Maybe, I just thought now, that I should be sending Reiki to the date of August 20th in advance, too!
And from a Reiki perspective if all is well and I"m in - any particular suggestions for hand placements before during and after? I will always do as I am guided and I trust my intuition. Still, I wanted to ask and just say hello, since you might find the combo of my professions interesting, too, especially if you are mostly OB Anesthesiologist!
Hi Reiki Doula! Welcome to my world! I did three c-sections yesterday myself. As an anesthesiologist, I want you to know there are three concerns for you as 'a guest in the O.R.': 1) sterility so mom doesn't get infected--be sure to stay behind the blue drapes at all times, wash up hands good before, and keep mask on 'right'--metal bendy bar on top and tight tie. 2) keep presence almost invisible to as not to distract Anesthesia and OB. There is very little 'real estate' and my OR doula once shoved me and Dad OUT OF THE WAY at Cedars-Sinai. Very uncool at this special time to put safety and family second-place out of 'Doula-ness' LOL. 3) I would suggest using 1 hand position, that is non-threatening to others in the OR--hold the hand that dad does not hold! This is what I do, and I talk to mom and give Reiki. They love it. I know 'transition symbol' and give it at actual time of birth. You are going to see a beautiful thing, a miracle--imagine two hundred years ago this poor mother, and possibly child, would have DIED in childbirth! Expect to come in when dad is invited, excpect baby to be born in about five minutes, and expect to stay with mom until she goes to recovery. Remember, you are a PIONEER so be sure to be all Pam Miles and respectful to make other Reiki people WELCOME in the OR after you!!! Please let me know how everything goes. I would love to hear your talk-story. Have to go to meeting now. Mahalo and Namaste. ALOHA Reiki-OR OHANA!!! : ))) Reiki Doc

Oh, such good stuff!! Haha, thank you~ I do, indeed, feel welcome here! Finally doing the work I love & crossing paths with amazing people like you on my journey. Thanks SO so much for taking time to share your insight, advice and encouragement!! It is incredibly valuable to me. Pregnancy, and birth are always magical, mysterious & YES a true miracle no matter which way baby is born. (I, myself, had a c-section so I 'get it' from that perspective too & sense that this will lend itself to being a healing birth for me, as well, when all is said and done.) I cannot believe you got shoved... sigh, well, I can... I'm just appalled! I will most definitely be "all Pam Miles" all the way LMAO! The plan is to be quiet, discrete, sterile, respectful, and with Reiki flowing continuously for Mom & Baby. I will definitely let you know how it goes. Thanks again, and have a great day! xo, Reiki Doula

Well~ the C-Section went very well! I gave her a Reiki session the day before the surgery. It was really cool to see how strong Baby responded in the womb - she started moving all around when I got over her belly and I was about an inch over her belly Not even touching! I joined them at the hospital and gave more Reiki in triage. I got the OK to go in with her - Anesthesiologist was cool, and said if there was an emergency I had to leave but otherwise no problem. This was the Mother's 2nd c-section, and there was something not right about the way she originally healed, that revealed to her high risk doc as her uterus expanded. (Reiki Doc comment--her uterus was close to rupturing, which could prove fatal to both mother and child if it did.) They referred to it as bulging, and once opened said "the whole lower uterine segment" was weak and that she "really made the right decision." Technology really served her, as well as her high risk doc who caught this. This might have saved her life. There were 3 OBs in the room because I guess it is rare to catch in advance what they did. No one could get to Moms right arm/hand, so I had her left and I held it the whole time. Baby came out and needed some help with her first breath, but then perked right up! Longest minute ever!! Mom was getting Reiki still, and I could see Baby across the room and sent to her as well. They both did so well, that 3 week early baby did not need NICU and they got to be together in recovery. I stayed with Mom and gave post-op Reiki, and doula loving, until she got roomed. Once we knew that Mom & baby were fine, and everyone relaxed, I told the Anesthesiologist (who I had been chatting with a bit about doula stuff and he was very cool and supportive) "Oh, by the way, you had Reiki in the OR today too." He goes "what the heck is that? (Reiki Doc--my colleagues are clueless about what I do. Only the RN's, some, and some techs, know. None on L&D though) " LOL So, my elevator speech was something like "it is a high vibration of energy that helps keep Mom & baby stable & balance, and also promotes speedy post-op healing and comfort." He just chuckled at me, but I know that now when someone else mentions Reiki - maybe he will now remember that "Reiki Doula" The OBs were also fantastic, and on my way out saw them and gushed my gratitude for being allowed in to offer support, and again, mentioned Reiki & gave the OB my business cards for childbirth ed & reiki. I really served that day!! It was such a blessing!!
Big smile! Most excellent! Thanks so much for letting me know! : )))

Sure, my pleasure - thanks for being interested!!
AND on another note, response to one of your posts - I am a VERY old soul too, a Master soul, old warrior soul, and a powerful healer. Although I need to bring the warrior energies to a resolution in order for the master energies to come through fully. Glad to have Reiki in the toolbox these days! I am from the Pleiades & I feel connected to Sirius, too.
AND final note - I've been through a beautiful and tumultuous 11 years so far with my Twin Flame. Our recent interactions since Nov 2012 brought out our telepathy!! As we say to each other as we just stare & smile "There are just no words..." Only LOVE. I'm just so touched to see you sharing your experiences and I believe in Twins reuiniting! Rooting for you and Twins everywhere
